Had the chance to meet the singer. He was in a band called Valentine in the 80s and 90s. In person he does look like Steve Perry and sounds just like him. I told him he did. He has been in the music industry a very long time. Glad he out doing this now.

I have seen Journey many times. The first time was in 1978 on the infinity tour. This was the first album I believe Steve Perry appeared on and I guess you could say the rest is history. When I ran up on these guys I was floored. In many ways they sound better than Journey because they are paying tribute to them and the effort to reproduce the classic sound is top notch. Can`t get enough of Voyage! Simply put "AWESOME"!

After the Frontiers tour in '83, there was a lull in new Journey material for a while. Then, in 1995, this song came out on the VisionQuest soundtrack and played on the radio. I remember the debut of the song on radio and I almost cried. At Neil's solo, I said to myself, "They're back!" This cover band is so close to the original.

I was studying piano & voice, I became obsessed with Steve Perry's voice...and it didn't hurt that he was also nice to look at. 😁 Dad was a Chicago police detective, so anytime I wanted tickets to any concert, he had friends who could always hook me up. Those were some amazing times.

My first one was Sept '81 in Champaign, IL. Fun time-waster: You can go on concertarchives and find the exact dates of shows you were at, and who opened, and even the setlist. I actually forgot I'd seen a bunch of opening bands like Greg Kihn, Poison, and Romantics (but I guess forgetting Poison is easy to do:)

@Terry Jackson watching Steve while studying voice was inspiring. He inspired me to add those high harmony lines to his. I went on to study jazz vocal, then opera because of Steve. Piano, I absolutely hated, though. I was AWFUL at it. No, I've never tried to look up any of the shows I've been to, but I kept all the tickets (some are even signed by Steve), so thanks for the idea... and I have to dig them out, but I think I was at that same show in Champaign. 😁

I stumbled upon Your KZbin Channel a few days ago. As someone who is very critical when someone else tries to emulate Steve Perry, I kept my eyes closed listening for a wrong note. NOT one to be heard. Then I looked and thought "No, that IS Steve Perry, but it can't be." . Hugo, you are spitting image of Mr. Perry, your vocals are AMAZING. You also move like He did. GREAT Job. Wow!! Listening....not watching this video I kept saying to myself how much I loved the 80s music. Listening to the music of journey....then the next song...the next song etc. Before realizing the word Voyage continued to show. I had a look and noticed ...a cover band . Wow...impressed. Not about the looks..it's about the music and Voyage is doing that for me. So many good singers have tried to get that natural "bell" sound that Perry had. This guy NAILED IT! Valenti has great stage presence too. Tribute acts like to think they are the guys. They're not. Know if you're close, really close, and be yourself.

I saw them last weekend. They were the second best sounding act on a festival stage, second only to Styx. Stunned. They were a replacement for Extreme and I was none too pleased when they started. By the second song, I was wide eyed and jaw dropped. Extreme who!?!? They had the crowd singing and dancing and cheering. Won us all over. I will definitely want to see them again.

Just went to the actual Journey concert over the weekend, and all I can think of is I would have rather have seen Voyage. Hugo and team are simply amazing! Way more “Journey” than the actual band that’s touring now. And I don’t say that lightly as Journey has been my favorite band for 45 years.

This is the closest to the real thing for me. I don't cuss, but this makes me want to. Awesome job guys!! The reflections, pronunciations, and mannerisms are so similar to Steve's. I swore I would never go see Journey after Steve left, but I would love to see you guys. You all are not a simple cover band- your skills are equal to Journey itself.
