I have watched both your Vr beginer tutorial and this one. I have to say for people who what to learn Vr and interactive envirnment on Unreal, your tutorial is the best with clear instructions and explanation. Keep the nice work and can't wait for the next one! Vr is just so fun to learn!

Oh I have it already. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ7Yh6mtjb2Zl5Y - here. It's not a linetrace laser, but instead shows a (E) icon every time your camera is looking at an object that you can interact with. I think that's a bit more elegant :D Hmm, probably should adapt it to VR though! Will do that after my travels :)

A Shame i discovered your Channel so late. Rhino is my main Program for Arcitecture and all things 3D (besides ArchiCAD/ Blender) where i feel at Home with. For Archviz and also Modding as Hobbyist i tinkered with the Idea to learn Unreal - these Tutorials help a lot! Thank you so much...

Fantastic courses. You are a hero! Is there any chance that you could make a tutorial how to animate a grip position and snap it to an object? That's the only thing that breaks immersion for our clients and I can't find anyone who explains how to do it in ue5.

Umm the issue is - your grip is controlled by a real-life object - your hand. The moment the grip snaps to an object in the virtual world - it's position stops corresponding to the position of the hand in real world.

@@DesignGoBrr Thanks for the reply. I'm not entirely sure if I understand what you mean. Maybe I explained it badly. In VR games, it's very common to snap to objects that you grab. For example, when you grab a sword or gun. The hand mesh snaps to the handle into a pre-defined position and "animation". The hand goes around the handle of the pistol and the index finger goes up to the trigger, for example. Or when the player interacts with drawers or doors, as soon as the player grips the handle of the drawer, the hand snaps into position and wraps around the handle. This is what I try to achieve in our archviz for more immersion. So when the client grabs a wine bottle, for example, I want the VR hand mesh to snap to the side of the bottle and make it look like the hand mesh is actually gripping the bottle. Just like in this vid from Half Life Alyx for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHa2p4eEgbBroZYsi=E5gGwPknzkxX6j_q&t=157 Right now. When you grab something, the VR hand just closes into a fist and clips through the mesh of the object you want to grab. I literally searched the whole internet for a tutorial and even looked for paid courses, but I only found tutorials for UE4, nothing for UE5. Again thanks for replying and sorry if I explained myself badly in the first comment, English is not my first language :D Thanks to your courses, I am able to do VR in the first place. I am really looking forward to your next videos.

@@MeikzZz Ah, gotcha! Let me look into this - if I can figure it out - I'll make a tutorial video. First guess is that you'd need a custom pose for every interactive object.. which would be really labour intensive. Maybe there's a better way - I'll think about it.

It is just amazing. Thank you so so much. Almost everything needed for interactive VR for an Architectural Visualization is there. But.....One problem is there. If we add smooth locomotion to the left trigger these interactions do not work as we convert the PAWN to a CHARACTER. I wish to have smooth locomotion for left controller and Teleport for right and have these interactions of changing material, switching objects and door opening, etc. Please please please let us know how to address this issue

how about AR and VR mixed together I mean create a door in your living room. that lead to virtual etc... that would be nice tutorial.

This assumes a clean passtrough in your VR headset. Currently all passtrough is absolute garbage that can barely be used to not bump into things. I have high hopes for apple vision (which will have it's own problems) and quest 3. Once we'll get the proper hardware - I'll be the first one to jump onto mixed reality vs vr!

I have a question. Can I make a project with two types of interactivity? If I want to mix a project with VR mode and Walktrough mode how to make it?

You'd need two sets of ingame controllers/characters/game modes. Hmm I would need to investigate how to make them both exist at the same time (one person is in VR while another is connected via internet in ThirdPersonMode) Will take a few months, brb

Hi, I have question, When I create a blueprint from zero, let's say a box, I'm able to change material because the "laser" hits the box. But when i create a blueprint with something I had already in the project, that blueprint can't be hit by the laser, the laser go through the object. And this is for all the geometries I imported from rhino or sketchup, they can't be hit by the laser, can you explain me why please?

Oh, if you're running a 2070 - don't do this type of VR. It's "highest possible quality that we can currently get" type of content. I'd suggest focusing on traditional 2D screen type of archviz (next tutorial will be about that :) ). I'm running an RTX 3080

How can you set up the GrabComponent to grab the BP with multiple meshes parented to a scene/pivot point component. So you grab the whole object with consist of multiple meshes? Thanks

Oh it's the same as door + handle rotating on a single hinge. You parent all mesh components to a single mesh that you choose (let's say handles parented to the door slab) so that they move together and then make the main mesh grabable

I have faced with next problem. For some reason objects in VR scene look like move from their originall position when i change position of my head. It reffers to objects as well as floor. I have chekced other tutorials and was trying to figure out what is wrong but by so far I have no clue what is going on there. I noticed that in Steam VR home or other envirement it does not make this weird artefacts. Sorry for asking for help once again but it is challenges to find solution.

Hmm very hard to tell without seeing it, but if Steam VR home is stable and the Scene is shaky, then it's most likely the OpenXR plugin that UE5 uses. I saw some people complaining about the newest version of UE5.2 not working properly with VR on Twitter. Perhaps it's another "use an older version of Unreal Engine" type of solution? Don't know for sure though.

For shaking picture problem I found helpfull tutorial on UnrealEngine, they use vr spectator camera from first person withbsoke Blueprint changes. This is connect with feeling of moving objęci For example changing position when we turn our Head or when we look at our feet and then on the top of some objęci. Once again thanks For your tutorial it is very helpfull !!

There are currently two solutions: either using Pixel Streaming docs.unrealengine.com/5.2/en-US/pixel-streaming-in-unreal-engine/ or going for a server service, such as vagon.io and their new vagon streams product

HI... i have a problem with the Sun Widget Menu, i dont know why when i move the V or H Sliders change the propertie of the sun only once, and the slider is set to -1... its wierd because i cheked if everything is okay with the tutorial, and it is... do you know what can be?
