VRChat Avatar Tutorial Stream with Lostwolf! Toggles, sounds, and particle effects.

I'm trying a new approach for setting up tutorials, because I've been having a lot of difficulty pacing these videos on my own. I grabbed a friend who was looking to learn more about avatar development, and streamed the process of teaching them!
In this video, we start off with learning how to toggle a hat on and off, then give it a sound effect when toggled on, and then make that sound play whenever a certain pair of hand gestures are used.
After that, we set up another toggle for a chicken nugget, then make it so that it can be eaten (VERY messily) with crumbs that fall and rest on the floor!

I want to make a avatar that can with a toggle, but how to I make a animation play before the toggle happens, and better yet, how do I even make it switch?

I think there's a word missing in your message. X) You want an avatar that can what with a toggle? As for making it switch in the first place, you can either use a gesture to do so, or a parameter. Or both, if you want more control. Is there a specific point in the process that you're having trouble with?

And for the second, do you just overlap the 2 models on top of each other so when the gesture is selected in the 3.0 menu it toggles on and off

The thing I forgot to say was how do I make it so when I toggle the change in the menu it fully changes the avatar

@@watchm Oooh, that's a little bit of an undertaking. X) To start, you'll want to import the full avatar you want to change to into the project, and place it underneath the main avatar in the hierarchy. Give the first bone (usually the hips) a Parent Constraint component using the primary avatar's hips as its Source, and click the Zero button to have it perfectly match the source's values. You may have to adjust the "Y" Position offset if the secondary avatar is a different height from the primary avatar. For *every* other bone in the secondary avatar's armature, give it a Rotation Constraint component with a Source to the matching bone of the primary avatar. So the secondary avatar's left elbow would have a Rotation Constraint using the primary avatar's left elbow as a Source, for example. After matching every bone, disable the secondary avatar in full via the Hierarchy. For the Animation to change avatar, you'll want to have it activate the secondary avatar object in the hierarchy, and deactivate the Skinned Mesh Renderer of the primary avatar so that it becomes invisible.

@@watchm Woops, responded to your other post with how to set up a changing avatar. X) It's unfortunately a fair bit more complicated than just overlapping the avatars, as my other post explains. I forgot to address the request for having an animation play during the change between avatars, as well... That can be pretty complicated, depending on what exactly you want to happen. :( What you're wanting to do seems pretty complicated, difficult to explain just through KZbin comments. It might be better to talk over a Discord stream, the way I did with Lostwolf in this video. X) I'd be willing to talk over Discord if you are!
