I've heard more than one famous singer suggest that being a 'natural singer' is not necessarily a great thing. Because sooner or later everyone gets into vocal difficulties and if you don't know how you are doing what you do, you don't know how to adjust or fix it when things go wrong. Your videos are excellent guides to both understanding how to sing well and how to work at either improving or changing what you are doing, depending on circumstances. I really enjoy your videos.

Totally agree about the natural singers!! Thank you, as always, for your posts.

Totally agree. Natural singing talent is a boon, but you ABSOLUTELY need a teacher to show you the tricks of the trade.

Your channel really feels like an advanced expensive course and it's awesome! I'm having a final project at school for music where my friends and I are performing a song and I'm doing singing. Your channel has really helped me and I can't thank you enough

Very timely advice. For the first time in years I recorded myself last week and listened to my pitch. I'm still having vocal health issues, but something you said in this about collapse seems part of my problem, too. Its almost like when I get to a certain point everything just disappears soundwise and breath. That may be a stamina thing I'll just have to keep working on. Thanks so much.

@@Victoria-Victorious you're probably too busy to se this. But I decided to spend the whole of todays practice session focusing on your 7 reasons and it had wonderful, yet frustrating results. I recorded myself 136 times singing the first line to a john mayer's song (I dont trust myself) and listened back to ever single recording. The amount of knowledge I gained about my voice isolated like this was insane. The first recording was all over the place and showed me that I really don't have control of my voice going up or down small intervals. Also, my consonant really do start on a random lower note that the note I want to sing. the 136th recording sounded so so so much more purposeful. I have so much to learn and thank you for showing my the right direction.

Who else is concerned about the spirit or psyche or emotional state of mind? How do we fix those? I bet they’re one reason why we sometimes loose the energy and things fall apart!

Do you have a video on vibrato and pitch? I realized that unless I'm very diligent, the vibrato knocks me right off pitch.

I have an entire playlist on Vibrato in Singing and another on Flat Singing. I have lots of playlists.

I don't have much flat issues but every once in a while I will. My hubby will tell me haha cuz he has perfect pitch. When I go back it is almost always not enough breath support. Thanks Victoria for your lessons. I Iove them. Matter a fact. My hubby and I was out playing a street piano last week. He had me sing Hero by Mariah Carey. When I got to the end I held out my vibrato (which I learned vibrato from you) and a group of four people. Three guys and one girl was going to their car, when they heard me singing. All of a sudden they were whistling, clapping and cheering for me!!!!!! I was beyond happy 😊 I told them thanks!! Deep down inside I had to giggle though. If they could have only heard me a year ago 🤣🤣🤣 I sounded so straight and boring 😴 😉
