He Who Must Not Be Named a hypothesis is an assumption that’s not based any evidence, a theory is an explanation with the most evidence. Theoretical physicists deal with theory and implications of said theory, for example, the theoretical physicists working on the math behind alcubierre drives use general relativity and it’s implications if negative mass existed outside of virtual particles

Since watching this video when it first came out I have had several nightmares where I have to perform supertasks. Such as cutting that cake or making holes or stacking squares of infinitely halfling size, etc. Odd random stuff. I also know in these nightmares I am making progress but always know that progress will never have an end point and the realization of that usually causes me to jolt awake. My point is... Thank you Michael for providing me with nightmares I never knew I feared.

That's an incorrect way to put it. Rather, the reason we have no paradoxes is because that's what a paradox refers to, something beyond the logic of the universe. Something our of reality. Something unreal, untrue. If they did exist, they wouldn't be called paradoxes. Even then, the fact that these paradoxes don't exist answers why the universe exists how it is now in the first place.

I feel like the concept of the plank length helps give these hypothetical experiments conclusive results since it’s now understood that there is likely a point at which you could not make something like a slice of cake thinner than it already is.
