Has anyone ever took the time to look at the description and how much effort he puts into these videos? There's over 30 websites he used, at least half of them are articles that he probably fully read. Not to mention, he has to make a script in a way that the average person can understand that lasts up to 18 minutes. And finally, someone has to edit everything he says, as well as add all the extra scenery videos like the Earth at the right spot that he says. I love this channel.

Same. I always wonder what our purpose is, and how we are merely a speck of a speck of a speck of a speck of dust compared to the size of the universe. It's dumbfounding, and it makes me wonder why we're even here. What the purpose is. I guess the purpose is to be happy, believe in God if you do, and if you don't, don't. Love everyone, and declare to yourself that everything matters- that every little thing makes an enormous difference in the world. It's hard to find purpose sometimes, and that's understandable. But we have to keep searching.

I think, if we have colonies on Mars, even international ones, they should have at least a basic set of rules/laws and some basic organizational system for starting out, set up before they even leave Earth. Starting a new colony would be a hard life, and it would make it harder if the colonists have to completely reinvent society from scratch as some random, disorganized collection of people. If they have at least some basic system, even if they end up changing it later, it would give them something to start from.

@grimSl0th2 жыл бұрын
@@natertater3400 There is no greater purpose of life. The goal of the very first cell (porkaryote) was reproduction. (Of course the first cell didn't make a conscious decision to have that goal - it was subjected to natural forces [+ itself wasn't conscious, consciousness only developed after some time throughout evolution]). After more cells developed the fight of life began. Some eat, while others get eaten. Survival of the fittest. This means also procreating successfully. Evolution selected living beings and still does. Life is a combat. Our whole psychology as well as physiology have been designed (selected by the principle of evolution) to keep us as individuals as well as a collective (-> reproduce) alive. We (some humans) strive to inhabit Mars because of the same reasons. It's logical and simple, yet a lot of averagely educated people don't see life for what it is, even if they have the cognitive capacity to understand, their psychology (which has been formed by evolution) likely refuses it and tries to make them believe in a fantasy - that there is a higher purpose. Even some Atheists want that higher purpose. If they didn't, maybe they'd agree with Inmendham. Can we please leave Mars alone, it's good that there is no life because if there is no life there is no suffering. And there is no need for a need. If humanity goes extinct because of humanity, this should be the best testimony that we shouldn't procreate on Mars. Even if humanity goes extinct because of natural reasons other than humanity itself, we still are a brutal species (not saying other species are better) that let things happen like war, famines, slavery, etc.
@grimSl0th2 жыл бұрын
@@natertater3400 If my first paragraph made perfect sense to you (and got you even more interested in the topic), maybe you should research about Efilism and watch Inmendham. If you do so, look beyond his personality flaws and focus on the arguments. Very best wishes
