I feel like sisters should teach each other that, when next to Salamander, do not threaten civs at any cost
@consolescrub4031 Жыл бұрын
I feel like this is probably the scenario which results in the most Salamanders/Sisters combat on account of how both factions don't really fall to chaos or go renegade much barring systemwide murdercurses brought about by sacrificing a lot of people, a planet and a primarch. That said, I imagine the Sisters in general are still perfectly willing to fight loyalist marines if they go against the Emperor's teachings and while they will most likely lose the 1v1, they do a pretty good job against marines in numbers as we know from their original introduction where they stalemated the Imperial Fists, Soul Drinkers, Firehawks, Black Templars and a significant force of Admech long enough for the Custodes to get concerned.

The saddest part about the Salamander killing those guardsmen and kriegsmen is that he had no idea they were infected by mindshackle scarabs. He assumed they were all traitors, when they weren't even in control of their own bodies and were actually begging him to kill them because of it.
@odinulveson9101 Жыл бұрын
Im not that lorewise, if its possible, but couldnt they tell him they were infected?

@@odinulveson9101 It depends on how strictly the mindshackle scarab is controlling them. It can be as strict as the person having absolutely no control over their bodies at all, not even being able to blink by their own will, or as loose as the person being almost entirely free to act how they want. In the book The Infinite and the Divine, Trayzan employed a man to basically be his secretary for like 60 years and the mindshackle scarab the dude was implanted with was only really preventing from telling anyone that his reclusive employer was actually an alien robot, physically stopping him from speaking about it and causing him pain if he tried, but otherwise the dude had full agency over his own body and lived his normal life. In this episode it looked like the first guardsman was trying to warn the space marine but didn't have enough control over his own body to do more than mumble incoherently.

That's one of the things that I feel like it was shoehorned in way too hard. This is a Space Marine. They are *smart.* And he might also know what a Kriegsman is. And he definitely knows what Necrons are. He should have been able to put 2 and 2 together and know that there was something wrong going on.

I always love to see the Salamanders, any other space marine wouldn't have even acknowledged the civilians but Sakan knelt to speak with children on their own level and refused to abandon them. So glad they chose to actually have a Salamander in this rather than go full "Ultra Marines are the best!!!", would've been so easy to do that, hope we see more of them and of Sakan.

Another little tidbit - he's from the 3rd Company - the Pyroclasts. These are considered the least merciful of the chapter as they are the ones sent to put down rebelions and burn non-compliant populations. Their captain Adrax Agatone is the exception to the rule that Salamanders are friend shaped. So when they're telling you to chill your murder boner, you should probably listen.

Felt bad for the Kriegers. They had no control of their bodies and trapped in their mind, fully aware of whats going on. Think the only reason they were able to even eek out a word in the crash was because they saw a Space Marine.

I do love the Salamanders continuously getting the love they deserve. No other chapter has that instant clarity of „the true good guys are here“ like them. Others might be stronger or more effective, but to normal humans, no other compares in the righteousness to bare the name, angel. Also, I think you would like nothing more as a Guardsman than to have a Salamander unit with you to keep you and civvies safe.

The Militant Orders of the Adepta Sororitas are still the fighting arm the the Ecclesiarchy after the post-Age of Apostacy reforms so the trauma of that time ended with the death of Goge Vandire and did not carry onward.

My gripe for this episode: The Deathmark went to the Stormtrooper School of Shooting. Yes I understand, when the "main characters" get sniped the story kinda ends so it makes no sense.
@consolescrub4031 Жыл бұрын
There's actually a really good reason why this fight lasts longer than the one against the Ultramarine (beyond the sister of course). You see it in the next episode but I'll explain it in a spoiler below. Spoiler alert He gets a Zoom call from his boss which he has to take mid firefight. He incapacitates the pinned down Salamander basically instantly once he gets back to the fight but he's physically incapable of ignoring his boss's direct orders. We also saw from the Ultramarine that the Deathmarks typically get their first shot dodged if there's nothing distracting the marine. It takes a bit more carefully baiting and surprise to get a clean shot on a marine due to their sensors identifying likely ambush points and reactions fast enough to keep up with most Eldar. Whether this is consistent with previous representations of Deathmarks (one of whom technically sniped Calgar) is another matter but I suppose you could argue the marines are definitely expecting an ambush here.
@tilted_axis9819 Жыл бұрын
If you want to try to justify it you callus say astartes senses & reflexes are good enough to avoid the deathmarks shots. It seemed like Sa’kan heard the rifle charging before it went off
