Awesome that you added the different symptoms between a bad thermostat, temp sensor and heater core. I've changed the first two over the years and finally after 135k miles my Audi has symptoms of a clogged heater core. Awesome video champ! Much love from Los Angeles

Your procedure worked like a charm for my b6. The position of the heater core outlet and inlet were at a diagonal but your tip about finding the discharge hose by looking at the hole was spot on. There was a lot of gunk that came out, which was rewarding. And Noe I have heat again!

your b6 heater core could be replaced with in 2 hours.... you do not have to take the dash out for that. there is a access cover right next to the gas pedal.

+EDGEMOTORS Could you make a short video showing/explaining with that access cover is located by the gas pedal? I believe my heating core has been damaged and needs to be replaced. I dont want to have to take out the dash if I dont have to.

Thanks sir! I'm heading to the garage in a few hours to try this. I replaced my water pump and had no heat afterward. Maybe an air lock? maybe heater core clog? Still diagnosing but I'm glad to have your tips as usual.

Well if the heat was working fine before water pump and right after it stoped, you should look into the water pump job.... but before make sure you have no air in the system.

One audi a 4 I was working on the audi dealer was not able to fix it with out removing the heater core the coolant temp. Was at 90 deg cel or 180 F while driving and the heat was perfect as soon as the car would idle for a moment the heat would go away bring it back to 2500rpm and then full of heat try to clean the core and did not help so i put a electric water pump problem solved and never had to replace or clean that heater after that ever. Like I said it is very rare that I had to do that.

Hi, I had the exact same problem in my 2006 Audi A4. I flushed the heater core but I still dont have much heat coming out of teh blower. I feel a little bit of heat when the rpm is higher. What else could be wrong with it? (the coolant lines were bled after the procedure) any help would be appreciated!!!

What I found even with a good heater core on some cars with the Audi chassis and with a good mechanical heater pump I had to put a electric water pump close to the heater core and workked perfect what the cars are doing is at idle with engine hot the heat would be very cold and then you turn the engine to 2500 rpm and then lots of heat not all cars will do that.

V10PDTDI not really, thats why you have a thermostat... if the heater core is not clogged and the water pump is working properly it should not be cold... it will be a bit cooler... but not cold and should be hot.

From what I've read CLR isn't good on aluminum cores since they can promote more corrosion
