Get some square metal tube pieces that can slide over those black square brackets on the rotisserie and you can bolt the on then weld your angle iron tot the square metal tubes. Grind the welds and seam seal on the chasis. Keep up the good work. Hope you will finish the 914. God Bless

I would use 3 inch angle iron. That way you could bolt it to the chassis and bolt it to the rotisserie without having to weld it on.
@CTmoog2 жыл бұрын
Good idea! I will try that. Thank you! =)
@jesusgarciajr.1822 жыл бұрын
I was going to suggest the same thing. 3 in angle iron so that way you have both vertical plane to bolt to the frame and horizontal plane to bolt to the top of the rotisserie brackets.

Great job CT. One thing I see in your welding of floor pan's is you need to move around the panel don't keep the best in one spot. Ues clamps where you can keeps from beating up the panels.

Definitely use the angle iron. When you cut out the ,cross bars and luggage tray be sure to weld in some stabilizer bars from right to left and top to bottom so the sides don’t fold in

Ct find a couple pieces of 3” steel angle. That should work perfect to attach your pan to the rotisserie.

Dear Reader, Everyone starts watching and following a KZbin chanel, when you see a project that makes you curious. In my case the VW Ghia. When I start watchting, there were already much video's made. So I could watch them on a regular basis. I hope you understand I really would like Mr. CT to make new video's about the Ghia. This said, I can see Mr. CT is becoming more and more skilled as he keeps working on all the cars. But he seems to get the most energy from the basic construction phases. Taking them apart, starting from scratch/scradge and welding and constructing basic forms. Perhaps he can find a 'partner' mechanic, who ends some of the projects. So their cooperation would start producing end results, and as such an income from selling some cars? About the question: perhaps Mr. CT could put primer on the chassis just as it hangs, and use the rotisserie for the next steps on the bodywork, so he don't have to change the connections on the rotisserie manifold, because that seems to create a lot of extra work. With Kind Regards, Michel F. van den Brun The Netherlands

at 32:45 where you are talking about bolting on some steel, you might be able to use threaded rod and have the steel plate or whatever you're using to hold the chassis about a foot away so you can still spray behind it. great video - good to see the progress and the work looking really professional.

Take a drill bit..the size of your plug holes...a broken or dull one works if you got one. Grind it flat on end so you can run it in your hole before welding..it scratches up the primer so you get a good arc start and weld... takes a second before welding or when your waiting to let welds cool you can do the next holes so you can weld them quickly....

Can't remember who's channel I was watching but when they welded the spots inside the seat tracks they welded those from the bottom. Just drill your holes through the flange instead of the pan in that area. Since it's a tight fit.

Hi there.. However you look at it, it is different than it was. You're a different Mr. CT I started following at the beginning. =) You rule, not yet a master, but approaching high level fast. Afterall we all have to begin somewhere and earn our expertise on every field we are into, right? Hehe, da, it's lookin' good for sure. It's quite faster if you build yourself the brackets for the rotissery, angle iron should do just nice, as if I remember correctly the last time you made those out of some flat bar, which is not very suitable for side forces, actually is a bad idea. Then bolt it to the chasis or make some simple mounting plates. That's pointy for angle iron bolting purposes to my knowledge, cutting it flat with a cap will make it harded for you in the future. I say angle steel, drill holes and mount. Anyway, in the end you decide, just try to keep it the simplest possible. =) You're doing excelent in learning, keep on the way to the master. Cheers.
@emerybryant2 жыл бұрын
could make up some L brackets and make them to fit the brace going across. Just angle them upwards so you can bolt them down without blocking your access. And bolt the L brackets down to the rotisserie. then bolt the chassis to the bracket going across lol or something like that.
