Oh, man, what memories. I knew someone who had a low-mileage ‘65 Westy which I had the pleasure of driving. It was as close to a new split-window as I’ve ever experienced.

This channel is my wife and my memory channel( memory lane). I had totally forgotten working on all the plywood underneath the z bed and the hand sewing of the bed etc . This brought back te memories And the sound walls and the installing of hard wood paneling. Hand sewing a insulated carpet from front by to rear. We sold our walkthru 64 a few years back. We are still bummed we did it. Love this channel. Side topic maybe do a dood video on the nuances of pulling apart and redoing pop out SIDE windows. The variations of the screw sizes( threading). And the difficulty putting back together the windows. This with the rubber availability. It would be good to tip people off to the water leak issues with pop out windows and the vulnerabilities to water intrusion . I know we were kinda taken back when perfectly put together windows weeped hard and we had to redo a few. Have a good week

I like that wide idea... the wardrobe cabinet reduces visibiity and I have seen several cut down...following....

yea this makes it much more comfortable and better for todays use. those wardrobe were for Suits that nobody wears anymore.

Hey Mike: For drilling wood I would recommend using Brad Pointed drill bits. The pointed tip on the bit keeps the drill where you want the hole.

Nice job! I am still working on my 68 double cab, restored the rear window and it took many days of fiddling around to get it all to fit and weld in nicely. I just need to grind down my welds and the back window will be complete, so I know what you mean, sometimes small projects end up taking 3x the time you planned.

this sucker took me a while. plus I have had other things to fix. a rabbit ate through the wires on my truck transmission. just 2 wires but i pulled the harness to shrink tube and check the rest of them Now I am gettng codes. One of the plugs is giving me trouble. OMG. one thing after another.

Excellent video. Love it! Looking at the wood for the bench/bed, if you shave 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the bench wood panels the door will close with the bed open.

Yea i thought I had some more footage of that I welded a nutcert on the top of the rear firewall. I could not reach all the way up there to put a nut on. then the others I put through the fender well.

Delmar hinges....that rock and roll bed is a pain to assemble....

Yea those rock and roll bed frames are pretty elaberate and expensive. Very cheaply made too. CHINA CHINA CHINA....I like these late bay hinges and cabinet. I would go with this one again before the rock and roll bed frame.

no space for it and they are outdated. This bed us much larger than the original. so 2 people could sleep on there. Not putting in the sink either. best to use that space for an ice chest. More usable today.....Ice boxes are hard to get ice for.

@@Mikefngarage was thinking, on my 66 camper bus, I think it had small holes on the bottom wood, under seat to allow air out from the foam to escape. Investigate 😆

Thank you for doing this! I have been considering making my own bed or trying to purchase one.. I have heard china rock and roll bed is no bueno.. I have reached out to builders in the UK and they do not ship to the states (well the ones that got back to me at least). Did this come as a kit or are you just building? I'm in AZ and would like to create this in my 69 Bay.

@@ElTerrible666 yea on the seat back. I would have gone with 1/4 carriage next time. or tnuts. Even the tnuts are very hard to get started.

@@Mikefngarage I use a short bolt and some washers to tighten down the T-nut to get it to sink into the wood.
