Wow! I very shocked at how a little clean out plus the addition of the seats. Big difference. But, this is a huge project and a huge expense. I was married to a man that restored vehicle after vehicle. He worked 60-70 hours per week. The rest of that time..he restored old vehicles beautifully! Where we disagreed was the ongoing great expense of replacing car parts. So, consider carefully. Thanks Alex...it is a beautiful piece of history!

Now has an 18'' wheel base (the side doors would fly open as it hit a bump so it was cut out and welded back together) and has been tagged in GA and not IN for last 20 years. The Bus that took us coast to coast in US, Canada,Mexico, across the ocean via Queen Mary from England to Sicily at full size was given to the closest thing to a brother. Thank you Covid crap the return trip had to be postponed.

Such a shame that so many vehicles are left to rust away, when they could be brought back to life by someone with the passion and skill to restore them. A magic bus, for sure!
@agomodern2 жыл бұрын
The shame is when the owner would rather it rot in a field than to sell it to someone that will appreciate it. I found a 1 owner bus once that was rotting away, and when I talked to the owner, she said she was going to convert it into a olayhouse for her kids. In the end I think it was hauled away because the town didn't allow junk piles sitting in peoples' yards. What a shame she wouldn't sell it to me.

I wouldn’t wanna camperize it if it’s got all the og Transporter interior and it’s as nice as the way it is! The interior itself is I’m sure worth what you payed for the whole thing! I think once it’s all done it’ll be a great grocery getter/family vehicle for you guys! It’d fit 8-9 with all the original seats! Never sell it! (Unless to me, lol) I’m so excited to see its future!

Now that looks like a very good project. It is not in the bad of shape. The seats are decent and don't require a lot to fix them up just a bit of stitching to get them back together and cleaning. I am surprised how good the floor is throughout the bus. I think the biggest challenge will be the undercarriage but I am sure if you can't find some of the support brackets someone can make them. Hope you restore this would love to see it finished.
