Wow, what a labor of love this is. Every bit of rot and rust in that 1967 bus is being eliminated. When finished this has to be one of Skinner's Classics finest restored VW buses. You just cannot but admire the great skill of Skinner's employees. These guys are simply the best at what they do.

AARRRGH!!! I've just binged watched episodes 1 - 20. I WANT EPISODE #21 - NOW! This is the best and most instructive restoration of a splitty I have come across. I have owned 5 of these beauties over the years, before they became super collectable. I am originally from the UK and used to go to VW Action every year (before it moved to Santa Pod Raceway). I now live in Ontario Canada and live in a small town that is a VW desert - I currently own a 2012 Beetle Turbo (just rebuilt the engine after the timing chain jumped) but want to get back into the air-cooled scene. Watching these videos has made me desperate to get one. I hope the progress continues and you end up with the Bus of your dreams - WELL DONE.

I had 5 of these old buses in my lifetime......best damn vehicle in the world. Wish I still had one of them......I'm too old and not in good shape or I'd find one and re-do it like I used to. I had a new one, a '72 but it just was not the same.......no karma. John Muir was right. Hope yours turns out right.....I'll be watching......good luck, buddy. Hang in there and keep the faith. Tom

I never realised that there were so many sealed metal box sections in the chassis. I hope you will drill acess holes to these cavities and after painting complete, spray these interneal cavities with Waxoyl to prevent corrosion from condensation or water ingress. The access holes can be flled with suitable rubber bungs. Repeat the treatment every few years and your bus will outlive us all!

One day you will set your GoPro up low down on an open road, drive the bus towards it then come to a halt with the tyre next to the lens, a split second later a handful of sand falls past. You are going to be finding that stuff for years, so funny (I bet your dad still finds it in his garage to). What a cliff hanger at the end though! Loved yours and Lori's lockdown vid, hope things keep well for you guys.

Man! As I was watching this, I was thinking how they have to get these door openings just right or else the doors will not fit.... either they won’t close, or the gaps will be too wide. Sure enough, he checked the measurements and something wasn’t right. Don’t worry. they will figure it out.

Hello, I follow your videos with interest. I admire your exploits on your activities. I am deaf and of French nationality and I am of Moldova origin, spoken Russian language, I am in couple with 2 children. I would like to know where the work on the VW van is. Is it finished or set aside for later. Just a question out of curiosity: do you have a paid job? The videos take place in which city: Hawaii or Seattle? I visited Seattle in 2014 at a friend's house. It is a very beautiful city, very clean and artistic. There is one very original thing, the house is decorated with chewing gum. And also the place that honors comedians Bruce Lee. I have also been to California, Nevada. At the home of deaf friends. I notice that you have the passion for renovating the moped. I have go pro but I don't know how to edit videos. Like you. My spouse does not have time to devote to this. It's a shame because I would like to use it and distribute it like you. If you accept we can get in touch for questions to exchange.
