Thanks Mic! I'm in the process of a disc brake conversion on my 61 Bus and noticed that my king pins have play in them and the seals are dry rotted. Can't wait to see a update on Kona. Peace

Bro, it's all a learning process, but it's better than sitting on the couch. Keep on keeping on. Great Job!!! WW

Nice werk, Mic! Good job only hammering on the link pins. I get spindles in all the time from customers who've pounded on the spindle itself and there's always damage to repair 🙄👍🏼

Impact drill. Worth every penny. And PB Blaster or other quality penetrating solvent.

Those are called flip spindles. When you were removing the bearing out of it with the pickle fork, being that there's a bearing in there, you may have been better off using two (if you have them) horizontal left and right to apply even pressure, or doing as you did by hitting it out from the back. Any strain left or right on a bearing, especially needle bearings can have the off chance to damage them or fling them out. Looks like they're pretty durable though! Good job. I love the old VW buses.

Do you happen to have a build thread on the samba? If not, you should start one and you can even share your videos there and get some really good advice!

Need to get yourself a wire brush to knock some of the rust and dirt off easier.

Please get 7 mm nitrile work gloves and wear closed toe shoes. You're going to be very unhappy if you injure your feet.

Yeah true... it could get so hot to work in 100 degrees outside :-P

I agree with the shoes but the gloves just get in the way.
