Great channel Nathan, here's a little tip. The bolts tend to get tighter as you turn them out, possibly because the tip of them, that sticks out from where you cant see, has been exposed to road salt and various dirt and debris for years. When it starts to get tighter, stop, drive the bolt back in until it is slack again and use a penetrating spray (one with added molybdenum) with a mirror to locate. Then go put the kettle on. When you come back try again, and repeat if it tightens again. With a bit of perseverance it'll come out in the end. Never failed for me and worked on plenty of older cars. Thanks again for the vids!

Loved the channel right from the start, and chuffed for you that you have more subs every vlog. Keep the struggles in, as it’s what all the home mechanics endure and it’s great to learn from someone that always gets it sorted! LOVIN IT!

Thank you Nathan for the video. Watching the video has lifted my mood after a crap work day You must have been cursing when that job turned into right pain, but fair play to you in just getting on with it and helping Andy out - sign of a true mate. Good of Andy too to show how your fix had improved his Caddy and to give his appreciation of your help. Great job - ah ye.

Duck oil! It's not cheap, but it works really well. Especially if you soak it a fair time before any job you're on This and a blow torch is a winning combo - If that pair doesn't work, it's found it's forever home & forget about it 🤣 Just for your info those subframe bolts are torque to yield / stretch bolts, should be one time use only in an ideal world - may get some creaking from repeated use where they are already stretched. Keep up the good work/videos

Years ago I replaced the front shocks on a A4 B7. The aluminum brace that holds the bottom of the shock was sticked (like welded) to the shock. I tried to pry it open a little untill the brace snapped. And it was still not releasing the shock absorber. That's was the longest " 1 hour job"😂

@@YTDTETV haha yea done the brothers jetta (mk5) last year brand new shocks springs (front and rear) inner rack arms trackrod ends droplinks and lower control arms (bottom arm) all went swimmingly til those damn bolts snapped 3 oit of 4 anyway bought 2 new outer wings(consoles) the bit you robbed of the touran then days later found out the bolts are torque to yield or stretch bolts and need replacing when removed so bought new bolts also as like subframe bolts need to too some previous owner clearly didnt renew them i did myself try 2 nut method heat butane torch and my pals oxy bottles at scrapyard to no avail really shi7 idea from vw fyi knowledge to pass on to you think you said it the amount of play in the bolts and subframe is when new vw audi fitted them loosely from factory then later along the assembly line centred the subframe square then done geometry alignment at final inspection or atleast to my knowledge from research.
