Hi, please advise me which vw golf uses the NGK R spark plugs? Goldwagen has sold me these however my engine runs rough with these. The normal NGK works fine. Thank you.

Another interesting video! Love the way how carefully you work. Also interesting to see the differences between this SA produced Golf and the European models here. To me it looks like a mixture between the EU models I, II and III. The hatch and front looks like Golf I, the interior Golf II and the enige bay looks Golf III. I see a throttle unit and horizontal air tube I do not know, does this car have Mono-point injection or Multi-point injection? Does it have somekind of exhaust gases re-use , (AGR) fed into the air intake? Keep up the good work! groeten van Ger

Multi point injection, just before the inlet valves, and no EGR at all, though it does have an oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold to control mixture, and a knock sensor. Basic bosch controller sitting up there on the firewall on the drivers side. Only things missed are that the throttle body at this age needs cleaning, especially if the PCV system is broken, as it will have sucked in a lot of dirt, so a nice blast of throttle body cleaner ( Spanjaard does have one, it works quite well), will make that initial cold idle a lot smoother. Vacuum hoses as well do leak, easy to test as well with that same cleaner gently sprayed around them afterwards at idle, and look for the stumbling when you hit the leak. Common places for leaks are at the inlet manifold, and where the throttle body is joined to the manifold, mostly from people not replacing the gaskets with new ones, and instead using the old one with silicone.

Thanks for the video, tell me I had a rattling noise on my vehicle coz my waterpump was leaking, then I replaced the water pump but it's still making that rattling noise.Can u tell me what else it can be

It could be a wrongly adjusted fan or cam belt, worn-out cam belt tensioner, hardened fan belt, loose crank pulley, alternator bearings, worn distributor bearing, tappets too loose, bearing knock, piston slap........ It is sometimes difficult and time-consuming to trace a rattling noise on an engine, a process of elimination should be followed starting from the simplest and cheapest to the more difficult and costly. Start by running the engine for a short period without the alternator belt, if it goes away you have isolated it to the water pump, alternator or fan belt itself, Good Luck.

Thanks Bud. tell me my 14i city golf was battling to cold start . once it was warm she was fine. is the the temp switch because the temp-gauge is working fine. ? also if you have knowledge on the remote / alarm / central locking it just stopped arming and locking . the fuses are all good.

Does the pipe from the tank go into the top of the filter or the bottom.

Look on the filter, Dhanesh, there will be an arrow to indicate the flow, some people tend to fit the filter upside-down, therefore, I do not want to say top or bottom.

Hi Maria, you have to, unfortunately, break the outside door handle to gain access to the door opening mechanism on the inside of the door, as the door handle is broken anyway, therefore, you cannot open it, you have to put on a new outside handle when you have opened the door.
