I have a 1300 citi golf carb, everytime i go up an uphill then my car looses power and switches off and wont idle, but if im riding on a level road there is no problems, what could be the problem? Plz help!!

Good day Gary, Thanks for always giving us high quality informative step by step videos. I have an issue. I drive a 2008 1.4i mk1 golf, I recently serviced it but now it misfires. I assume it has something to do with the plugs, I checked them and even changed them again but the issue still remains. It didn’t do this before the service, what could possibly be the issue? I replaced all the necessary parts for a oil change just like you explained in your video.

Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs .com You are welcome. It was a 5am start and all went good as shown and a service was well overdue. My mk1 runs much less like a tractor now lol but I've yet to solve the misfire after a recent mechanic visit were the fuel pump was "cleaned". I'll get it in somewhere now that its more of a car again :) Thanks again.

thank you so much for the response. The reason I asked I also have a citi golf 2005 model +- 200k km on it, and recently done oil change service about 2 months ago using this type of oil. last week it started showing the low oil pressure sign with buzzer when Im driving about 3000rpm, I change the sender that didn't fix the issue. so I was suspecting maybe I used a wrong oil.

Then, please do not attempt the procedures described in the video. Take it to a Mechanic who has the simple tools for this job.

Hi sir. When i remove my oil filter, no oil gushes out like the one in the video. Also my oil filter would start leaking at the seal no matter how tight it is screwed on. Theres no oil buzzer coming on to indicate a problem but i suspect there could be... do you think its time to replace the oil pump?

It depends on how long you wait to remove the oil filter after switching it off if not much oil gushes out it is not a problem. As for the oil filter leaking, it could be the quality of the filter may be inferior, it could also be sump compression building up in the engine causing excessive pressure in the crankcase, this will cause leaking from seals or the filter, a simple test is to remove the dipstick while the car is running if there is excessive pressure coming out of the dipstick tube there is a problem and the piston rings have to to be replaced, if it is really bad the piston has to be replaced and the block rebored.

@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 thank you sir for your advise. yesterday i took the chance, seeing that i had a spare oil pump. I replaced it with the spare and new GUD oil filter. And upon first start after standing 2 days, it idle normal again. Before, it used to idle rough for a minute or so. Cos i know oil pressure has a correlation with fueling if im correct? My engine was rebuilt start of the year but the oil pump was not replaced at that time

hope you can help me... the guys were going to do my cambelt on my 2007 1.6i citi golf... however they told me the 1 bolt they could not get out and might need to use heat or get an engineer to remove... is there any advice...as they could not remove the cover...

Yes, they are all shimm adjusted, unless the head has been changed by the owner.

If the oil light is not coming on then it is in all probability not the oil maybe the shimms need adjusting, or if it is hydraulic the lifters could be worn out.
