nice setup. i have a Rodney Adams design (RAD) turbo intake and a 325 cfm holley on my rail buggey feeding a 1915 right now but i have a sniper efi 2 barrell that im going to install. you are the only person i have found that has a 2 barrell efi on an air cooled vw. i'm glad to see it runs well i was a bit concerned it would be too much.

thanks JB! i havent done it yet but the fuel map definetly needs to be fine tuned due to the fact that they are setup for v8's(even with 4 cyl selected) it did well on the rod trip i went on 2 years ago and got decent mileage for avereaging 80-100mph! Even with the fuel map is off by quite a bit the computer sure pulled the fuel out and it ran better and better each time i drove it

Also the RAD parts look very nice! Is your rail boosted?
@JB-ro3sz Жыл бұрын
@@V8N8T no but the holley has a 2 bar map in it so it is capable.

You should get a medal from Fitech for putting this together. All your videos are great, this is exactly what I wanted to see. Excellent job.

Thank you!! I like that idea id hang a medal in the garage:)

Thanks for the video . I'm looking to get this system soon. Any issues with not running the heat risers on the manifold? Any icing of the intake manifold in cold weather?
@V8N8T3 жыл бұрын
You bet. It does ice up, it's been in the 30's to low 40's with a big hole in a spare decklid which isn't helping my case. I wouldn't mind trying to tap the intake where the exhaust heat risers would go and run my oil lines thru it for some heat at least. I have a different decklid coming in that I'm hoping will allow me to fully close the decklid and keep some heat in. The "coolant temp"/engine temp for the efi has only been getting up to 120/130ish so it's not getting into auto tune very often(I turned the hot temp parameters down to 120), and I'm sure that is only due to my situation, I have a 2in engine/trans raise so a stock decklid won't clear the air cleaner and fuel line unless the bottom is propped open around 5 inches. So I have a decklid coming in that should allow me to fully close the decklid and help retain some heat:)

what would be your injection system recommendation to use fitech 2 barrels? or the holley sniper 2300 2 barrels? and the progressive carb adaptation manifold. o type rad design.I have a bug 2110 cc 94x76 and c35 scat
@V8N8T3 жыл бұрын
The rad intake is nice but I have never personally seen one in person so I can't give a recommendation on the intake but just by looking at it I'm sure it flows much better than the intake I have(progressive intake with adapter) I am definitely a bigger holley sniper fan than fitech, I think holley has a better self tune and there software is just simpler due to more r+d but that is just my opinion

Can I use this efi setup with a stock 009 distributor with points ? Or do u have to have a different ignition system as well.
@V8N8T3 жыл бұрын
It can be used with points and a stock 009. I would always recommend a pertronix upgrade which replaces your points. I am currently using a 009 with a pertronix point eliminator

What size fuel pump you're using?
@V8N8T3 жыл бұрын
I'm wanting to say it's 340lph, I could be wrong though. It's the factory fitech in line pump and I am using the fitech pwm so it runs lower fuel pressure when it's not needed

Semi soft haha it's ptfe pretty tough stuff but not invincible. Luckily it'd well above the lowest part of the car. Someday I'll run it through the tunnel... great idea for the upgrade list I'm working on while it's apart thanks:)
@smokepeddler2 жыл бұрын
@@V8N8T yeah, just cut a couple access holes in the tunnel and run some ss hard line to a bulkhead. Cool stuff though. I like where you're going. Wonder if this is possible with a duel set up.
