Oh my sweet lord. FINALLY, I got the back story to this mysterious rainbow car that I used to pass by like every day omw to school, back in the 90s in a suburb of Vienna!!! Wow I think I saw one of the Golfs in Chicago, was so puzzled by it and never saw a paint job like it! The Mutli-color engine bay parts and especially the Mondrian-pattern seats are such wonderful touches. In conclusion, want one!

I had one of these, very rare Polo 1.4CL multi coloured cars. They were difficult cars to sell, and not many Vw dealerships were given one to sell. I bought mine in the Sinclair VW dealership in Newport South Wales back in 1996. It had quite a few admiring looks from customers, but as it cost nearly £1400 over the standard 1.4CL Polo, few of them were sold. The lovely 15in Indianapolis Alloy wheels, standard on the Polo 16v were standard on the Harlequin models It was the dreaded rust that caught up with mine, and i sold it back in 2007 to a friend outside Caerphilly.

In Brisbane Australia, A personal paint job was put on a fleet of cars based in Moorooka. All colours were the billiard balls for a game of pool . Yellow, Blue, Red, Purple, Orange, Dark Green & Cherry Red with Black and White in two utes.
