...I don't understand why car manufacturers, car accessory manufacturers in particular, don't create accessories that take advantage of the ISO fix attachments. Especially a container box you can put on your seat and attach with the ISO fix to prevent it from falling off. I personally would love to see a professional camera bag that has ISO fixing attachments. Not so necessary in vehicles with large boots (trunk) but smaller vehicles would certainly benefit. Why use them only for baby seats? It seems a bit of a waste really as they are in almost every modern car regardless of whether you have small children or not.

Yes, absolutely like it. But there are some things they could improve. Air vents in the back. I guess it could get quite warm in summer. And windows to open, at least sliding windows like Multivan. And it would be nice if you could open the back window separately like in Berlingo etc. There is one more thing. A 230V socket with at least 2000W. That's it. On some of these points they are working on it, I heard...

@@onepunchbud1472 I am pretty sure that it will take less than a week before I find it annoying. But then I am a frequent bike rider and so is my girlfriend, so we often bring two road bikes, mtb:s or triathlon bikes in the middle between the two child seats. In the winter, I ski several times a week and I always keep a few pairs of alpine skis and cross country skis in between the seats. I also go windsurfing often and then I mostly bring one board, three sails, one boom and one mast. All this fits perfectly in a normal sized station wagon with center fold, and you can also go to the mountains with two adults and all the ski gear inside the car. Keeps things clean , the car stays quiet and you reduce the energy consumption quite a lot if you can avoid the roof rack or roof box. No matter how big that rear boot is in this case, you will not be able to fit a set of 200cm skis or a 250cm windsurf board while still beeing able to carry two kids or two adults like you can in any much smaller station wagon with 40-40-20 split. Not that it is a problem for that many, but this car is supposed to be a cargo carrier for familys and that 60-40 seat really narrows that down for just a very minor cost save.

For skis you can fold the right back seat flat and have a long flat space. One seat is lost anyways. But overall I wonder why they dowgraded the back row to only 1+2 chairs instead of the 3 individual ones you find in their current (comparably sized) Sharan van series. The middle seat is a 2nd class citizen here compared to the full three equal sized ones in the traditional van setup.
@harvey666162 жыл бұрын
Plus with 123 cm square cargo space, skis up to 170 cm will easily fit diagonally flat on the floor/. Granted, that's a bit on the short side, but would still work for some. By propping up the skis a bit to take advantage of the second diagonal dimension, even somewhat longer ones could fit. As I understand it, when the US version is released, it will have a longer wheelbase, and maybe a slightly longer cargo area (with the third row of seats out/folded), so could fit even longer skis in the back without taking up any of the passenger seats.

It should have 3 seats in the middle with 3 isfix sets there as well as one in the 1st row passanger seat. I stil hope for childseat friendly tilt for 7 seat version not only in LWB option but in this 4,7 m too. That would be perfect variant. SWB, 7 seats and RWD to get this insane turning circle for City use. It is a van it should swollow 3 childests in 2nd row easly. From what I could see, this bigger one went a bit into the middle seat because isofix set is not installed as close as possible to the eadge of the bench. That is my point - it is nice but it was so easy to make it perfect big family car but VW failed. It is another 4 people car - just as ID 4, but with huge trunk. VW used to make briliant family cars like Touran - much smaller but with 7 seats, childseet friendly filt and 5 isifis sets..... ooooo VW You are so lazy.

I believe the standard (short wheelbase) model will be offered in the format we see now, and later, a 2 + 2 + 2 seating option will be offered. The long wheelbase model will be offered as a 2 + 3 + 2 with a different middle row bench. I also believe that both models will be offered with 180⁰ rotating from seats. The variation in seating will expand dramatically over time!

Great looking machine can’t wait to see real range tests
@tesla-spectre2 жыл бұрын
He just did them, check out his videos. Range is anything but impressive because consumption is high esp at 120kmh and battery is only as big as in ID4. But the 1000km challenge was impressive at 10.30h. But you need to pay a lot for electricity and charge very often, since at 120kmh it can barely do 250km and only on the first leg if charged to 100%, once you recharge to 80% it of course drops significantly. To me such short range, a bit too cheap interior and the terrible capacitive buttons in the front are unacceptable for such an enormously expensive car. But those who buy it will often not be very rational but rather emotional, it is for sure often for those who always wanted a T1/2 when they were young and now can afford a reminiscence of their youth. It is has some good stuff definitely but for me personally it is totally overpriced. But so are now practically all EVs includ8ng the current model 3, but the latter is a tactical d3cision to boost the Model Y. I am just glad I got mine in December 2021 before the hype started in January. Reasonably priced are very few like the MG4. And sadly one of the most reasonable EVs is now longer sold, the Ioniq classic.
@stefanweilhartner44152 жыл бұрын
@@tesla-spectre yeah. shortages in supply, high prices for battery resources and not to forget also government subsidies pushed the prices up a lot. but these are temporary effects. of course they will vanish over time. but i think we will not see the price tag going down but not going up with inflation anymore. so, while everything else will get more expensive with inflation every year, i expect the prices of EVs not creeping up anymore in the next 10 years. on the side of the electricity prices, i expect the same. prices will not rise anymore. solar power installations at home are getting more and more popular. battery buffers stabilizing the grid which results in lower prices.

Bjorn, if you want to talk about second row seats, you should review the fossil Touran and Sharan (and alhambra) from VAG. They one-up the Buzz in that they have 3 individual seats, not 2.5 like here, even though those cars are almost 10cms less wide. Those seats fold the same, can be individually shifted and reclined, and each has its own isofix. If you have ever used a Sharan (which will be discontinued soon), then the ID buzz is a poor replacement. I feel like the ID buzz was actively limited in seating configuration to not be too much competition for the T7 (which is supposed to have insane seating modularity). But that severely hampers the buzz, and makes it barely better than an enyaq for real world use. What do you do when you have 3 kids, 1.5ys apart? Back in the day when the little man was still a baby, whenever sixt handed me a 7seater, i used to stuff the front passenger footwell with the heaviest bags (clothing) for autobahn weight-distribution, my better half would sit in the second row on the passenger side, and the baby would be in the middle, and the rest of the space would taken up with bulky baby stuff. You could then just slide the door open and quickly put the cybex on the seat, to get out of the rain, and then properly set it into the mounting afterwards. And no, i am not that sort of macho who needs to drive all the time. Due to often using sixt 7-seaters for big outings, and sixt asking for more money to insure a second driver, i end up driving whatever we rent. And it has now become established that when we visit my family (600+km away) i drive. She tends to drive our car almost all of the time though, as i try to avoid having to drive wherever i reasonably can.

I like the ID buzz. It seems to have almost everthing you need. I like it that it has a small front bonnet. To me it look like how EVs should be. Large long front is, when I think about it, more ICE style, even the Tesal's. With this ID buzz window pushed more to the front, you get more interior space. With a Tesla frunk, you have to get out of the car to get to the front storage, and open it flat up, compared to the back, fdown up. The front lid does look a bit small to access for maintenance though. Does it mean that for maintenance you actually have to screw off the front lid and bumper to access the motor bay?

The folding mechanism on those seats is better than most European vans, but Bjørn, I think your mind would be truly blown by the average American van's seats 😅 The Germans can't seem to figure it out, but for instance Stow-n-Go seating in FCA vans just drops the whole seat down flush with the floor 👍
@flyingpanhandle2 жыл бұрын
"he Germans can't seem to figure it out" Why? The average American seat is no different to the seats of 1990s/early 00s MPVs such as the Renault Espace or Ford Galaxy that were popular in Europe. @@flyingpanhandle well and good, I stand somewhat corrected: The Germans figured minivan seats out briefly, then appear to have forgotten how to make them (see all recent generations of Transporter, V-Class, Vito etc.) 😉 That fact that the only way to get the seats in these vehicles out of the way is to physically remove them from the vehicle (at probably >30kg each) is a little embarrassing.
