Kia EV6 has 14-level micro adjustment for the back seat angle. The seats can be brought to 90 degrees opright making the trunk very spacious all the way to to a veeeery relaxed sleeping mode in the back.

Mercedes E-class Touring (S213) has the the same luggage space extender for cases where the standard 5-seater 640 litres and 640 kg luggage space is not quite enough. Thanks for bringing my sports car criteria into play, Björn! For me, a sports car is one that is capable of transporting sports gear and my sport involves bicycles. If fat bike or full suspension mountain bike won't fit in the luggage space without removing parts, such as wheels, then the car is obviously not very sporty.

Hello, I've already seen many reviews of the ID.7 Tourer, but I couldn't find information anywhere from anyone about how many cm does the trunk (luggage door) will extend beyond the rear bumper when opening? It is important information for us, because the length of our garage is only 5200 mm and I think we are not the ones who has such a garage...;-) Please are you able to measure and compare this information between the regular ID.7 and the ID.7 Tourer? How many extra cm does the trunk door take up from the normal length of the car when opening for the ID.7 and for the ID.7 Tourer?

Looks nice from outside but no flat floor. 20 years ago it wasn't a problem for Volvo to fold seats in 2 folds and get a completely flat, no car is more expensive but seats are cheaper? Also so strange, if seats are in normal position how come that station wagon has the same capacity as sedan.

2:30 A Mazda 323F from 2002 had rear seats with adjustable angle (multiple positions that could by operated simply by pulling a cord while seated) and also the possibility to slide the whole rear bank forward to gain even more space. This looks heavier, more difficult and less flexible. Progress, I guess.

BMW X1 has this system. For iX1 the sliding of the bank is not possible because of the battery.

Those door handles are a nice compromise between flush and physical handles. Tesla door handles suck. All flush door handles suck. More range but at the cost of somewhat ruining the car ownership experience IMO. I don’t want to have to “get used to” awkward door handles. I want great door handles. You could get use to eating soup with a small spoon too, but a soup spoon is sized and shaped how it is for maximum usability. Car door handles should be too.

I am really interested seeing where EVs will go... and breaks surely are something I really love... but VW doesn't seem to be doing a brilliant job by staying quite conservative... If tesla once made the S version a 7 seater... is it that difficult to have a break, station wagon, kombi with 7 seats? The model Y with the 7 seats could be such a great option to smaller people and some rare use of extra space... that or models like the older Zafira.... and keep price attractive and far from 100k models 😏

1. Using the same parts for ICEs and BEVs is cheaper. 2. The terms "engine" and "motor" can be used equally. Deal with it. From MIT:"In the early 19th century, the meanings of motor and engine had already begun to converge, both referring to a mechanism providing propulsive force.[...] Today, the words are virtually synonymous."

The steering wheel will see the return of physical buttons like the new Golf GTi. Unfortunately, the climate touch sliders below the bottom of the display have stayed in that Golf GTi. And frustratingly, the center console will still likely be majority draped in black gloss plastic, and there will probably be some haptic gloss black buttons left of the steering wheel for window heating and fog lights, and on the buttons around the hazard button, if the new Golf GTi is any indication. Car makers are stuck on black gloss with many car reviewers forever calling it out as terrible. Someone with influence should organise a boycott of car makers until they stop using black gloss.

Definitely could be done better in terms of how they screen looks bolted on. Separately, it is worth pointing out that some customers psychologically associate “boring” with reliable. However wrong the logic might be it is a thing.
