This just saved me a Metric asston of work. The fuses on top of my battery were oxidized on an Audi A3 8L from the Netherlands. Thank you very much.

Just replaced the ac coil on my Mk4 2.0L. The power steering pump is mounted under the ac compressor so removed tensioner and alternator and lifted the compressor up and tied with a rope to help with clutch/pulley/coil removal. Did not have to jack the car up. Took me a minute to realize the pulley has a key (notch) in the splines and can only go on one way. Cold air at last! Thanks for the video.

I don’t understand
@paulschoppe14482 жыл бұрын
@@Nick-fy7yi I had the same failed part as shown in the video (ac clutch coil) but the power steering pump is mounted below the ac compressor on my car. It was much easier to remove the alternator and lift the front of the compressor up several inches to get at the clutch/pulley/coil than to remove the power steering pump and lower the compressor as shown in the video.

Really nice video, thanks for the help ! Just a quick question : did you just use an impact driver on the central nut to extract the clutch before the pulley ? No special tools needed ?
@petermolnar86675 ай бұрын
To remove the nut, you can use an impact. To tighten it, you need an angle grinder spanner to prevent it from spinning, and use a torque wrench to tighten the M8 nut to 15-21 Nm (or 27-34 Nm for the imperial thread version, not sure if that was fitted to Golfs, or metric only). Apply Loctite on the thread beforehand. For the pulley, use a bearing puller. Everything else just wiggles on or off.

Hello, Do you know where the Pressure Sensor in on the "high side port"?? This was 2:12 in your video. I had a shop do repairs on my exhaust manifold and when I left they didn't sure the BOOST / MAP sensor wires loom and those wires rubbed on my belt and caused a short. My car had quite a few codes before the fixed the wires but my A/C hasn't been working since then. The shop refuses any responsibility for this problem they almost certainly cause. My AC compressor is not coming on and all my Fuses are good. This is on my 1.8t Jetta. Also, they checked it yesterday and charged me saying the AC Compressor is bad. He said he verified this by hooking up a multi-meter and then measuring voltage. It's at 9.3 and when the fan relay or something kicks in (I think from turning on the AC button) it jumps to 12.5 Volts. This is on my 2005 Jetta 1.8t. Thx for any info!

My clutch clicks but doesn't spin when A/C is turned on?

Good video, my pulley is always making a failed bearing sound, it doesnt matter if the ac is on or off or maybe it could be another pulley, not the ac one?
@suchfilms93063 жыл бұрын
I would take the belt off and spin each bearing by hand to see if you can hear any noises coming from them.
@misterispusovcikas90663 жыл бұрын
I did the same and it was the a/c pulley bearing. It has a slight movement still, even after changing to a new bearing, but the sound was gone for 2 months. After 2 months the sound is back, but i left it now how it is

do we have to take out the pulley as well if we only wanna replace the clutch ? but, what i think is we can do it without even removing the belt
@rdooski4 жыл бұрын
No the clutch is inside the pulley. You could theoretically remove the clutch/pulley without removing the compressor but I bet it would be really hard.

Can we talk part numbers for a MKIV R32 I want to know if it's the same across all vr6 motors or if I need one specific to the 3.2.

Random question. What would your thoughts be on an ac compressor that is always on. Even when the button in the cab is off I get to the end of a drive and the pipes are frosted over!?
@dsimondublin3 жыл бұрын
Low referigent, or clogged cabin filter.
@untitled2792 Жыл бұрын
i saw somewhere else if the spacers aren't installed correctly it can stay "always on"

Well I guess the previous owner JB welded my ac compressor to the block cuz it's not coming off after those two bolts
@melissamurrish55963 жыл бұрын
Don't give up! I too experienced the same thing when trying to remove my compressor this weekend! Used a pry bar and carefully worked it from both the top and bottom of the compressor and was finally able to get it free! Dropped right out once the friction/corrosion was overcome...
@Jukonja4 жыл бұрын
wow, this almost looks easy peasy, If I had time I'd do it myself. my AC is working but the clutch bearing is totally busted, when AC is on it totally rattles, AC off no sound whatsoever. I might just risk it and give the clutch a replacement. my fans don't work, the low speed died on them, when engine gets hot they actually do work.
@suchfilms93064 жыл бұрын

My fans don’t come on with the ac. We put a new fan control module and new fans bc the car was over heating. We had someone check the system and it is out of refrigerant. I replace the high pressure sensor. What is my next step since the fans don’t come on. Thanks

A year too late but check all your fuses for the fans and AC.

Could this have to do with my fans not turning on at all? I've replaced temp sensor, thermostat, thermo switch, ac fan control, and still no fans I'm at a dead end completely
@rdooski4 жыл бұрын
Try testing for power at the fan to eliminate the fan itself if you already haven't. But I bet you probably have.
