VW passat. The air stop blowing but fan works. How to calibrate and self test the Climatronic VW

this is to fix the problem of Air not blowing through the vents. AC is cooling fine and Heating is working too. The only problem is air is not blowing through vents.
If this does't fix the problem and the absence of flow it comes back every time you drive the car, after few minutes or 1 hour, then the problem could be the heater core and AC condenser...much worse situation...

I have a 2015 VW Passat TDI with 100K mi. The shop was ready to pull the dash to replace the actuator. I estimate it would have a been about $1,000 job. We both agreed to hold off while we did more research. I found this video and wala!! It worked like a charm. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

@@connallykendrick9350 When the vehicle is started with the climate control fan on the highest setting or “max” it was cause some of the “doors” inside the heating/AC vents to stick and left me with dash air from the two outer most dash vents. None of the other settings would work in getting it back to normal. It still happens to this day if I am careless at start-up, but when it does I use this self-diagnostic to get them all to work normally again. Sometimes I have to use this feature 10, 20, 30 times for it to work. Very frustrating.

@@dennisbutler349 geez.... That's insane. Seriously inconvenient I'm sure. Thank you for the reply there! Fiance has a 2016 Passat that's cold on the passenger side when heat is on. I had the issue with my truck and it was the blend door actuator. Pulled it apart and rebuilt it. I'm not sure where the one is on the passenger side in a Passat, but I'm betting that's the issue here too

Thanks so much! I thought I would have to rip my dash apart and replace one of the actuators. My floor fan stopped working on my 2017 Passat and its been freezing driving my car. The reset fixed the vents for me. Thanks so much for sharing this!

VWs have a common issue with A/C fan blowing but no air coming out vents due to a faulty A/C control solenoid. Part is available on eBay for ~$17 and shop will charge $300 to $400 to replace.

Hi-I have a 2012 Passat. How long does it take for the air to get cold on a hot day? It works fine eventually. 5-10 minutes at the most. Is that normal?

If its all vents that are acting weird, does this calibrate work for everything? Or do you need to select the vent that arent working. For example here you gold down the front vents and AC, do you also need to hold down the floor vents and AC to set those? Thanks for the walkthrough!

@@crifix. Question: I tried the reset and I hear the motors moving, but all of a sudden I cannot get heat out of my floor vents... all others work fine, lots of heat, just not out of the floor... Searching and searching but no joy yet.

@@shanerobertson6125 also mine is not warming too much on the floor vents. Are you sure NOTHING is coming out? And is the heat coming out from the other vents a good flow?

@@crifix. I have confirmed... no air... All other modes work and heat / cooling control s fine but their is zero floor air. I hear motors working and not clicking noise like a busted arm or gear. My car has occasionally experienced odd faults and a quick disconnect of the battery has helped. I haven't dug into it yet, but my feet have been chilly on the way to work while the rest is nice and toasty. It is odd to say the least... any advice is appreciated.

I have an issue like one side is blowing cold air with A/C ON and other side is blowing worm air with A/C ON . Will it help for me if I reset it? I am thinking that hvac door issue somewhere. Thank you in advance

Yes try to reset. You may have a lock port

Thanks for the video, but the problem I have is different. I have a 2012 Passat TDI and while the driver side is blowing HOT air s it should, the passenger side blows is only blowing cold (un-heated) air (all vents on passenger side - windshield, seat and legs). any suggestions?

I tried this and on the passenger side towards the bottom is where you hear all the air coming from. Is that normal ? Plus my air is still very light

Anyone know what it means when the ac button will not light up? Fan blows air, heat works but no cold air and button will not light. Max ac lights up tho, still no cold air. Checked pressures low was ~80psi high was ~110ish. Checked fuses too.

I was thinking about the sensor inside the Compressor that adjust the temperature and the relè...if the fuse is good check the relè

@@crifix. we’ll check the relay, thanks. We checked the connector to sensor in compressor, it’s getting ~4.5v & ~ 1 amp. I read it should be .6 -.8 amp but multimeter is kind of cheap so we’re not sure if it’s accurate. My understanding is if the sensor isn’t getting that spec it’s upstream from it(like high pressure sensor/switch) but if it’s getting that spec then it’s the compressor control sensor. Still though we’d like to be sure before replacing it.

The sensor inside the compressor is not expensive to replace. I'd give a try

Hello and sorry for my english. I have bought a used vw golf 7 1.6 tdi 105hp 2014 model. The last 5 days i am hearing a sound like liquid is running through pipes in the dashboard. Also i hear the sound before i start the engine (for 30sec), as i drive (all the time i am driving) and when i turn off the car again for 30sec. Do you have a solution for that please; Thank you.

You probably have a leak. That's why you hear a noise like liquid running. Does your AC works good?

U have to check the circuit. Check for leaks and pressure

Keep doing it over and over again and it will work. I’ve done it up to 30 times though the course of a day before it finally did. It’s a pain.
