I as well as many of my friends have opened up (split) the CIS manifold, cleaned all spring hats cups and chrome plate and changed all o rings and re assembled it with absolutely NO leaks or problems. We also remove and rebuild the fuel pressure regulator adjustment shaft o rings and spring if needed. There are also individual jet pressure adjustment screws under the other little screw caps that allow you to re sync all the flow to each injector via the manifold. You are miss informed. There are videos on here showing the complete "Bosch Professional engineers" lol process. Dont be skeeerd!

By the way for more detailed information that type of air flow meter is called the up -draft design, meaning that the sensor plate goes up as the air going to the engine passes through it. On other European cars like Mercedes Benz, they used a down-draft design air flow meter wherein the sensor plate goes down as the air going to the engine passes through it. god, this fuel injection system (cis) is kicking my ass. my issues lye with the frequency valve on the fuel distributor; it only buzzes the first 15 seconds upon start up, then it turns off, and adjusting fuel mixture (3mm) doesn't make it turn on.

Please help my gti 1.8 is over fueling the minute I disconnect the fuel pump it starts right up and dies again but when I plug the pump it doesn't sound at all

I would recommend you to perform a fuel pressure check on your car. It looks to me that there is a possibility that there is an internal fuel leak problem in the fuel system of your car. Possible cause could be a leaking cold start valve, or even a fuel leak coming from between the plunger and the barrel in the fuel distributor. When you do the pressure test,the system pressure should be 5.0- 5.5 bars and with the electric fuel pump off the fuel pressure should not drop below 2.5 bar within 20 minutes. I hope this will help you locate the problem you're having with your car.
