Hi, Were you able to use the vans original 4 speed gearbox?

Hi, yes, it bolts strait on. There are different codes on the gear boxes that you can look up and they tell you the gear ratio. There are a few different boxes. Typically I can't read the code off my box lol. There are boxes with a higher 4th gear which is ideal, I'm hoping I have one fitted but it's trail and error there. The good thing is, though a petrol engine revs out a lot more than a diesel. I'm going to upload another video soon. I have one on the engine to put together and fitting it. I'm also trying to finish it off over christmas and I will document this for people. Then when done I will do another video of what you need and don't. Because you will find you don't need to spend money on everything that certain VW parts suppliers are telling you to do the conversion!
