How much of the weight of the TC? Can a person hold it and pull it from the gearbox or should use a second jack to hold it?

One jack one transmission. To lower the trans. To get to the 5 bolts on each side. Makes it easier. Then have 2 people to pull the transfercase. It's to heavy for one person.

It's about 100 pounds. And there is only one way to work on it. You have take it out of the suv. I have videos how to work on the transfercase . Good luck.

@@irontownartfabrication9164 Thank you your quick reply. I have to change practicly all the seals - engine rear, trans and TC-, therefore I will remove the transmission and the TC together using a transmission adapter and a jack. Than I will lower the jack and have much more space to remove the TC from the trans. The trans should be supported on the front avoiding the jack tilting forward when removing the TC I guess. Definitely a two man job.
