VXR Turbo VAUXHALL NOVA FULL Restoration.

IT'S TIME!.... to sell one of my cars (insert unhappy face here). I'm a bit of a car hoarder and with over 40 cars it's time to let some of them go. There is a problem though, most are in need of desperate repair and most don't even run. Lets start with car number 1, a Vauxhall Nova that's had an Astra VXR engine put in it! This things rotten with a large side of bodgery! Lets crack on and get this thing restored in a month and sell it.
I hope you enjoy this video. Instead of the boring 10 minute time lapse to music I gave it a twist with more of a story, let me talk you though the process of restoring this lovely classic car. Ohh and I still added the music, it's just not over the time-lapse ha ha.

Amazing how rare these have become. I remember there was a guy in Malvern with a red Nova that had the 2L turbo engine stuffed in it. Seemed to spend it's life being thrashed around the McDonald's carpark, as any self respecting Nova driver did in the early 2000s....

Love a loony Nova. Been out in some before but none that fast. I was glad when the wings went on. I was having flash backs of my sub £400 SR, when i was checking it over before MOT and found the flitch was made out of news paper and underseal :( :) I loved it while it lasted though. Looking forward to the next one fellas !

Ahhh that looks INCREDIBLE after you guys worked your magic! In my Essex Boy Racer days I was Vauxhall through and through. I owned a couple of Astra GTEs (a 1.8 and then a Coscast XE 16v) and a Cavalier SRI with a mate that was Nova/Corsa crazy. So I've been in lots of SRs and SRIs, I can't even imagine what they're like with 3 times the power of the most powerful Nova! Loving the channel gents!

Love it. I had a blue SRi with a 2l redtop engine back in the day with the same wheels as this. Straight line speed was amazing, corners were another thing entirely! If I win the lottery I'll build another.

Had a GSi , I absolutely loved it , had it fully resprayed and colour coded. Aerial and door locks removed. Corsa white indicators. Wing mirrors and surrounds and door handle , filler cap and front grill colour matched. It looked so good back in the day. Silk metallic violet 😍

I've only just stumbled across the channel...its awesome, so is that Nova re-build. Nice to see one car and one episode and not being dragged out. It would of been a nice touch to keep the red stripes in the bumpers, keep the matt black between the front and rear windows, and of course keep the GSi badge on it, but that aside....Awesome !!!!

Lovely looking little nova. Only thing for me would have been to to sort the exhaust manifold out high temp paint or black ceramic coat and would have made it perfect but thats just my ocd🤣🤣 good job lads

Looks great, had a couple of Nova GTEs back in the 90s and they were superb wee cars. Fromn a personal (OCD....) point of view, I'd have kept the door mirrors white, and the B pillars should have been matt black. Just a personal preference though. 🙂

I used to own an old F reg GTE. I had a similar upgrade done via Courtney Turbos in the late nineties. Cost me roughly £2500 to have the work done.

Paul's got his fingers and toes crossed that a Subscriber wins the car so that he can both sale one of his cars and then buy it back. I think Paul's Sister will be screaming a lot of naughty words in his direction if he does manage to buy the Car back. Looks mint! Bit torn between the old black wheels on it and the new wheels that have been fitted, which are possibly more likely to be in keeping with the car as I left the factory.

That’s a beautiful little car now dude , the only thing I don’t like is the roll cage but it is definitely necessary and I get it . The no badges and stupid stickers also appeals to me it’s always a bone of contention but that works and looks great in my opinion anyway and nobody gives a sxxt what I think ask my wife 🤣🤣 blimey I can’t imagine how it goes be care with it I bet it’s a little monster lol 👍
