Love the new Gen2 Headlights... I currently have Gen1 installed in my R32 and I like them but I would definitely upgrade just so I can get full LED and loose the ballets. It's a bummer that they are not producing any LED tail lights I been looking for something decent. Great videos keep up.

They are really a great upgrade. Fun you mention the tail lights because I also mentioned that to them. They said they haven’t made taillights because it’s really hard to split the taillight housing and reseal then properly. I did give them a few idea how to go around this.... so we will we if they make any taillights.

I have the version 1's in my R32 and while they are great, the idea of a bigger housing and all-LED functionality will be nice for cleaning up my engine bay when compared to the wiring harnesses in the gen 1's.

The R32 style looks much better during the day, but the matte black looks excellent at night without all of those extra reflections inside.

@@ThreePedalGarage yeah the 20th is the style I have right now on my R32, and what I ordered, along with clear blinker lenses which I think is what you have in the R32 style driver side light in the video.

OEM R32 came with HID's as factory standard? In Europe for as far as I know all R32's came with Xenon headlights

Yes in Europe they did in the US they did not. These lights are not xenon they are LED lights. No ballets are needed and really easy to install.

german R32 all have xenons incl. lamp washers. It is illegal in Europe to have a HID headlight without a washer, I wonder how about US...

@@hijack3 Not 100% true if you're in the UK. The type approval requires auto levelling and washers, UK MOT does not, it only checks "if they are present".

Yes they do! There is a harness adapter I linked in the descriptions you will need to buy if you have a xenon equipped car. If it’s halogen you can plug it right in.

Quick question. In the UK I think the amber turn signals for city lights is a problem. When indicating the opposite side has to extinguish for clarity, so having one side on and the other flashing is not allowed. Could city lights be limited to the white inner lamp? Our MOT testers here fail cars for this regularly. Thanks.

graeme86 click my link below for ECSTUNING and then search for this part. “VAG Connector Removal Tool” it will come up and this is the tool. It makes disconnections the lights way easier

you need to pay attention for connectors. my oem xenons have 12 pins, not 10. you need a harness to convert back. KUFATEC has one, look it up. about the auto leveler, not sure if you can replug it. you can always contact VXT and ask, they respond immediately

KUFATEC has one for 70 EUR. there are schematics about making 10->12, I think you can reverse engineer it easily. pay attention to wire diameters!

@@zeuss1353 Go out at sunset, see how dimly lit your view is of most things just like the light if your stock headlights were lighting the area. Now picture its noon and the Sun is at its peak blindingly illuminating everything even what you never noticed in the shadows, but you see clearly with great detail. That my friend is your halogen H7 bulbs compared to HID 6k bulbs in an R32 replica projection headlight! You could install 6k HID in your projector fogs too but you'd never use them unless you were bored.

Why daF would you compare your old burned OEM headlights with Brand new ones...go restore your OEM put some good xenons and then compare.

I bet if the original was fully polished and a decent 4500k hid kit installed they would be same has the vx tuning ones in power.. not saying rhe vx tuning are anything wrong but just of some1 doesn't have the money
