I've always liked this cut. Playing "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" on the keyboards for the intro "gut-punches" me every time. This is yet another masterpiece by Blackie Lawless... and a true heavy hitter...if you really listen to it. (Also, if one had to pick the "most underrated" band... you'd have to consider WASP. Unlike damn near every other band, they've pretty much stayed true to what and who they are over the years. The "sharp edge" WASP has is what Motley Crue always wanted, but couldn't quite ever get...maybe it was the raw meat that WASP always tossed into the crowd lol).

It's important to understand that this song is St.Peter at the gates of Heaven after a multitude of men were killed on the battlefield and there was no more room in Heaven for more.... ------> "I can't take anymore.."
@WildChild30056 жыл бұрын
Commented Blackie: "The title is from a quote from American President Abraham Lincoln when he saw the casualty reports from the battle of Gettysburg, and after reading that he said, 'Tonight the Heaven's are hung in black.' So I took that idea and I wrote it from a point of view of a U.S. soldier in Iraq who's on the verge of dying and he's standing at the Gates of Heaven but St. Peter tells him that because of all the fighting that has been taking place, they have no more room in Heaven, and that he must come back some other time. So based on that understand that the verses are St. Peter talking, and the chorus is the soldier."
