hihi i speedran a translation of this before i lost it among my many tabs. to me, at least, this song seems to be about the generative ai industry. the repeating motif of copying others in a not-exactly-accurate manner, the “i love you”s to a blank, unfeeling box, the blatant mentioning of algorithms and the relationship between humans and machines in one line, the dissonance that reflects ai’s inability to make music; not really sure what’s going on with the reed metaphor but it could be an indiscreet way to refer to ai. it’s also a FUCKING BANGER. edit: changed some of the lyrics to hopefully be closer to their original meanings. thank you tackmyn! 葦ですか。/なぬりそ vo. 初音ミク are you a reed? / nanu riso feat. hatsune miku 400個の箱の中身を埋める [1] filling the contents of a manuscript paper, 行為が教育の義務でしたから it was my duty to educate myself, お家に帰ってさあ小一時間 so i went home and, for an hour, 考えましたよ、考えたでしょう? thought about it, didn’t i? 「困った困った答えがわからぬ」 “i’m stumped, i’m stumped. i don’t know the answer.” 試行/思考も手も停止して行く末、 after stopping trying/thinking and moving my hand, 編み出した近道こりゃ楽なモンだ i developed an easy-peasy shortcut; 他人の試行/思考を丸写し! copying other people’s attempts/thoughts! 無駄、無だ、無キャ、無惨凄惨 it’s futile, it’s nothing, it’s apathy, it’s gruesome cruelty, 試行/思考が既に停止しているから because the attempting/thinking has already stopped 停止していることすら気づかない without me even knowing it; 離れた黒目を戻そうとしない i don’t even try to put back the dark eyes that left me 「だってだってアイツが言ってた」 “‘’cause, ‘cause it’s what they told me” その試行/思考を至高の試行/思考と試行/思考し that attempt/thought is the supreme attempt/thought 嗜好すらまた誰かの模倣 even preferences are imitations of someone else 石地像某思考せぬ石ころ a statue of blank, unthinking stone 「時効なので信仰や親交を更新中です」 “the statute of limitations is up, so we are in the process of renewing our faith and fellowship.” …更新中です …we’re renewing. …更更更更新中です …we’re re-re-re-renewing. 4×4=16だなんて not even fibonacci would accept フィボナッチすら認めてはくれない that 4 × 4 = 16. この我々に黒い涙流し and here you are, shedding black tears 黒箱に向かってこう言うんだね and saying to the black box, 「大好き大好き生きててよかった」 “i love you, i love you, i’m glad you’re alive.” 利口な癖に人工を拝借 despite being clever, you borrow from artificial wisdom セットリストにこじつけの解釈 a far-fetched interpretation of a set list ネットギフトにイカれてるi_love_you [2] i_love_you, and i’m so crazy for online gifts 誰も彼も温室の中で everyone was in the greenhouse, 「考える人」のポーズを取っていた posing themselves as “the thinker”… んだ!いないいないいないいない [3] …true! Thank you so much! Do you have a clear idea on what the word reed would mean in this context? There's plenty of different definitions for the word but I'm not sure which is which ^^;;
@gigi-f27 Жыл бұрын
@@erihtea0719 葦 specifically refers to the common reed grass _phragmites australis,_ so reed as in the plant. i'm realizing now あし could be a homonym for something else-悪し(bad/evil) seems the most likely to me.

Hi, sorry for being so sudden, but would you mind if I reposted your translation on other websites? You will be properly credited, of course! Also, I have noticed that your translation can be improved if we make some corrections, and I wonder if you'd like to hear about them? Thank you!

@@gigi-f27 Alrighty! Here are my suggestions. I'm really sorry I'm bombarding you with an awful lot of letters... - 400個の箱の中身を埋める / 行為が教育の義務でしたから: I believe "400個の箱" refers to _genkou youshi_ (or _genkō yōshi_ as Wikipedia has it), a type of paper used for writing in Japan. One piece of paper usually has 400 squares, each square designed to accommodate one character. And in Japanese education, it's often "mandatory" to write essays or book reports on the paper. - 試行/思考も手も停止して行く末: It's "stopping trying/thinking" rather than "stopping to try/think." Also, this is kind of trivial, but you seem to have missed 手も. "After stopping trying/thinking and moving my hand" or however you phrase it would work. - 無駄、無だ、無キャ、無惨凄惨: What I want to talk about is 無キャ. It's a relatively new slang word so it's not on any JP-EN dictionaries available, but as far as I know, the term refers to people with no energy, hobbies, individuality or personality. You may think of the word "introverted," but while introverts may have some hobbies, 無キャ isn't interested in anything and therefore doesn't have anything that they can be passionate about. Do you come up with any English word similar to this term? - 利口な癖に人工を拝借: This is sort of ambiguous, but I feel like this 癖に is not actually the literal "habits." It's rather difficult to explain, so just google "na kuse ni meaning." Overall, I believe this should be something like "Despite being quite clever, you borrow artificial wisdom." - そんな興味無い癖に: Same as above; "Even though you aren't interested in that," "I know you aren't interested in that," or something like that. - 付き合ってらんないよ: This is really ambiguous, so you can ignore this if you disagree with my opinion here, but as a native Japanese speaker I really feel like this sentence is independent and is supposed to mean something like "I've had enough" or "I can't stand anymore" (Just google "付き合ってられない meaning" or something like that). - 道徳で順番に指されてって ~ 慌てふためいて書き直しました: Translated very literally, this will be something like "In the moral education class where we (students in the classroom) were called on one-by-one and asked to talk about what the protagonist (in the story they read) thought, I rewrote in a hurry what I had written after hearing the answers of the people before me." In Japanese school, there's this thing called "moral education class," in which students are made to read ethical stories and express their opinions. The protagonist here realized that what they had felt was "abnormal" compared to what the rest of the class had, so they erased their opinion to conceal it. - 葦みたいに隙だらけの人間: Where did you get "gaping" for 隙だらけ? I think it's more like "open to attack" or "vulnerable." - なんて可愛くて仕様がない人間: I believe 仕様がない is closer to "hopeless" or "worthless," though I'm not sure if it makes a huge difference. I apologize if my English was clunky here and there, and feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
