Oh Yvonne I certainly don’t think you’re “unlucky” with horses you are an incredible guardian to all your animals sometimes things happen that we have zero control over,I know that many of the situations that you’ve been through especially with your accident/coma haven’t been easy I don’t know why you’ve had to experience such trauma and difficulty (I used to question that a lot myself while I was sick a lot especially as a little girl sometimes I still do when I have bad days and flare ups)and while I don’t have the answers as to why for either of us or why Riseys going through what he is I believe that some of us go through certain things because there’s a bigger reason (no negative comments for me saying that please!)You were definitely meant to inspire/touch all of us with your family your strength and sense of humor and to show us what amazing horses Friesian’s are you’ve touched countless people and continue to do so as long as these videos go up. Amen, The Good Lord has a plan. It is difficult to understand but HE always works for our good. He seems to be using Yvonne to demonstrate healthy, wise and compassionate animal care. Yvonne, your skills and instincts are amazing, we all learn so much. I love that Dieuwke wants to befriend Risey! Racehorses in US have been known to have a buddy like a dog, or even a goat! They travel with em to help keep em calm.

My sister and neice have had same luck with their horses and felt cursed......BUT I keep telling them it's not just their function they are beings with souls on this planet and they were given to you....their horses love them beyond reason and would die for them....yours would too they love you so much and you are their world!!!!! Look how much calmer Risey is with you after only a week!!! His trust in you is amazing!!! By the way...please don't listen to the people telling you naming out the horses is boring .....it's part of your recovery too and I appreciate it especially at the big stable where there are so many Fresians...it's part of your channel and content and its wonderful!!!! I haven’t finished the video, but I need to share a thought I have, regarding “bad luck” with your horses. How many hundreds of thousands of people have been united all over the world, with Uniek and Risey’s story- they brought together the HERD, which helped you out in a huge way after your horrible accident. Uniek and RS have been a shining light in the darkness for so many people, Stal G and Stal H- all the lovely horses and people- there is no bad luck there. Life is terribly hard and unfair at times and I’m so very sorry for what Risey is going through, but through his story, people are being touched, educated, and united and we all love you Yvonne and stand behind you. Just some thought. In my faith, God always shines brightest through the dark times and we need to stand strong. 🙏✝️💟

My father in law used to raise quarter horses, and one year he had a few foals with the same problem as Risey. After quite a few tests etc, it turned out to be a vitamin deficiency in the gestating mares, especially Selenium and Vitamin E. It may be the same for Riley’s mum … nothing you could have done about it. Strangely enough it became very evident at the same age as Risey! I know you will do well by Risey…all the best xx

Yes, saw a video of Canadian couple who rescued abandoned wild mustang foal, that could barely walk with weak legs. They gave selenium and the foal completely recovered. Vitamin E definitely helps with building and strengthening cartilage and lubrication of joints.

Yvonne, my landlord owns a horse farm where I am currently living in New Jersey, USA. He has worked with horses for over 35 years and is extremely experienced with them. I call him the horse whisperer. He saves horses that would otherwise be put down and will do anything and everything in his power to save them. Case in point, his partner in NY USA was told by their vet to put a particular mare down and my landlord said No and brought her here. His vet came out to see her about a month ago and never said anything about putting her down. The horses here are very fortunate to have someone as caring and knowledgeable and such a good and caring heart like his. I truly believe he has a gift with them. Spoke to him about Risey and he asked if you had done a full body x-ray yet, and also said you might want to consider a spinal tap to try and get to the bottom of this. Even if it is Wobbler, not necessary to put him down.

I very much enjoyed watching Dieuwke play with Rising Star. And he's a more suitable playmate currently than Rinse Janko and Pieter would be because they are very large and during rough play could injure each other. Dieuwke can't rough it up more being he's a dog and much smaller than Risy. I'm glad that they are friends.

It is going to be hard and I am so so sorry, Yvonne. You’ve been through an extremely hard and very dangerous experience. You nearly died! It has been a long and very difficult recovery and you still struggle with lingering effects from the accident. You said about all that you and Klaske went through and you both made it. I wish nothing bad had ever happened to you. I hope you can use the strength you gained in mind and body to take Risey through the rough times he will have during tests and treatments. It will be hard for all of us. You have a lot of experience with hard things already. You know what is coming and I just hope it helps you and Risey. There are so many wishes I wish I had to help. Do not beat yourself up and PLEASE do not let the words of others who feel free to cast judgement “rent space in your head”. This is the first time i have ever sent a comment in the years I have followed you. I would look into chiropractic for your horses. I also follow a youtube channel Dr doug willen who is a chiropractor in New York City treating both humans and their animals. I love seeing Rising Star at Stal H. He looks so healthy, except for the Wobblers. I still hope that something can be done to help him. For some reason, every time I look at Risey, I remember him as a foal at Stal G; and, he was sleeping in his & Uniek's stall with his head on Yvonne's lap. If that wasn't love and trust, I don't know what is. It may be true that when it comes to horses that Yvonne has actually "owned", she has had some really bad luck. But, when you consider how many horses she has cared for over so many years, I suspect that three is a very low number. All of the horses at Stal H look great! They appear happy and healthy. One look at any of them, and you can see that Yvonne is giving them the best care possible. If the occasional horse has a health problem, it's certainly not due to a lack of love and care on Yvonne's part. She should not be discouraged just because everything with every horse hasn't turned out perfectly. So goes life. 👁💙Friesian 🐎🐎🐎!

Risey likes his ladies fiesty lol, 8:13 that's four times now Reintje went to nuzzle with Risey and dismissed him due to being protective over her foal. Edit: Also, Risey's head is starting to mature, it's starting to look more like the head of a KWPN adult with the intrinsic Arabian details day by day and it is utterly gorgeous.

I'm sure, Yvonne isn't going to put him down, unless his quality of life is just too diminished by the illness. There was an update a couple days ago (this footage is from August) and his condition seems to be more or less stable. He hasn't improved, but he hasn't gotten much worse, either.

Wie es in Deutschland heisst, es steckt der Wurm drin. Es spricht absolut für Yvonne, Risey Zeit zu geben. Das scheint ja auch die Einschätzung der Tierärzte zu sein. In etlichen Fällen ist das Wobbeln welches durch einen zu engen Kanal bedingt ist therapierbar, ja sogar operabel. Wichtig ist es, eine darauf spezialisierte Klinik zu finden und auch einen entsprechenden Physio/Osteopathen. Und, das Ding wird leider richtig teuer werden.

Yvonne, you’re luck with horses is pretty average to be honest. They’re big & strong animals that are surprisingly fragile at times. Just please be careful when handling & caring for Rising Star since wobblers can suddenly & unexpectedly fall. Sunscreen for humans will also protect the delicate pink skin on the muzzles of horses with blazes or bald faces. We use it all the time here in Kentucky. We generally use 50 SPF.

Yes Yvonne! She almost "points her toes" like a ballerina. I can't remember who in the arena first told me about how sweet Sjirkje was good at using her hindquarters, assisting in that beautiful trot. And I see it here with lovely Saly ❤

I agree with you all, i've seen that saly is more of a soft yet beautifull trot, though their precence is very diferent, she has this motherly like presence, but mess with her and you are history, however Reintje very diferent, i don't know why but even trough screen it can be felt, she is more 'powerfull' in a sence, more rought but fine built, by one hand one was trained, one not, as i said, even their built, Reintje has this sport figure, such can be seen in her foals and their long legs, though Reintje is more tall than saly, it isn't much, at least personally i percieve Saly as smaller in a sence, i think they call it baroque? Not sure but i've seen comparisions and she seems like a mix of classic and baroque, but i'm guessing she was bred for exactly that, breeding, while Reintje is dressage, and she looks a lot like Tjalbert. Both elegant, each in their own way, i don't know why but at first i though saly was older, her behaviour and built just felt like it, don't know but it's hard to describe with words, nowadays Yvonne has some stuning horses

I have to say it is hard to hear you say you are unlucky. Certainly you have had trials and hardships. But it seems you have also had a miraculous recovery and been blessed with a life many could only dream of! I am not saying this to be critical, but to offer encouragement to stay with positivity and gratitude- that is where lasting happiness exists. Yvonne - I just finished watching an overall quarter horse grand championship competition. The horse that won overall had severe wobbler. They eventually had to resort to the spinal surgery. They said it took quite a while to rehabilitate him, i.e., but about 3-4 yrs ago he was fine. And, now he competes in overall quarter horse shows and now has won grandship. They kept stressing get the 3D acrylic spine surgery and that it took a very long amount of time and patience, but they felt it was worth it. They said the horse he is now made it all worthwhile. But, they stressed that not all horses with the 3D surgery and intense rehab come back to be champions, but they do come back to be good riding horses. There is hope, but Risey made need to get the replacement surgery. 😊 There is hope for Risey to still be a good horse and maybe even what you had pictured for him. ❤ and prayers for you two.

I understand why you feel you’ve been unlucky with horses. Feel free to express those feelings as you wish in your videos. Life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. That said, all the other horses seem happy and healthy. Rising Star doesn’t seem to be unhappy. Wobblers aside, he looks good.

Please do not get discouraged.. Owning and caring for horses is a delicate, time consuming and at times difficult operation. There is another youtuber in England whose home- bred horse has a neck injury to the spinal cord. I dont know if this is a case of "wobbler" but she has been advised that the horse will not be able to be ridden and the neck injury could be a ticking time bomb just out and about with themselves and/or with other horses. Caring for this young horse will never be straight forward and of course it breaks her heart. As long as Risey is happy, able to be a horse, loved as he always has been by you and your family, and of course not in pain, may be the new and revised plan for Risey. I have learned so much from his birth, introduction to Uniek (I watch that video over and over) and the capacity of horses to move forward despite very sad and challenging circumstances. Anyway, tens of thousand subscribers love him and wish you both all the best!

Yvonne, I just saw a youtube clip on a horse that was diagnosed with "wobbler" the name was Matthew Lennon Healer ( Diagnosed as a "Wobbler" and Doomed to die. Apparently this person helped heal this horse. I don't know what they did but what ever they did it was working. Keep up the great work you do. Lover of horses Myra Mays

Yvonne, by now you have received many suggestions from people, vets, from all over the world. I am sure you are thinking all this information through, what to do next, talking with others, talking with Rein Sr., everything. YOU will make the best decision for Risey. In this video you are thinking about the full X-rays. You have options. I have seen Wobblers in cats online and the cats were living their best lives, all things considered, didn’t appear to be suffering. Just take it one day at a time.

After all he's conquered so far in his life, it hurts my heart that he has to go through Wobbler's. Hearing how you are thinking about probably having to make the hard decision to possibly have to let him go if nothing will help him just brings tears to my eyes. Me too…… I am still hoping there is a horse whisperer or chiropractor somewhere, who can help him. Also, as he grows bigger and stronger he should get better with more rest at Stal H. The wild life in the meadows of Stal G (with Rinse Janko & Pieter) wasn’t good for him obviously.

I would not get too down about being unlucky with some of your horses Yvonne. GOD has blessed you with 2 very handsome boys, and great husband, a great farm, and a miraculous recovery from a horrible accident. Sometimes life just had hurdles and challenges, and you've did a wonderful job with Risey. At this point, it is up to GOD if Risey gets better or if he should pass on. You have given him an incredible life, not much more a horse could ask for.... I watch different horse trainers and you have an amazing connection with all the horses you are involved with. Whenever you go into the pastures the horses always responds to your presence. That is a god given gift you have. I learned so much when you where helping Rising Star as a colt.

You are doing your best with RISEY. Please do not make yourself to blame. RISEY was given a wonderful chance with Uniek raising him. He would have had this disease with his original owner too. You could not see into his future. His WOBBLER DISEASE IS A GENETIC PROBLEM. ALL WE CAN DO IS HOPE FOR THE BEST OUTCOME.

You know what is the best for Risey! I watched a video from a woman who didn't had knowledge about horses but saved a horse with wobbler. Many people told her to just put him to sleep, but she said "i gave him my word to live and I wont break it", even the current vet is amazed saying "he never would be a riding horse but he is a happy horse", the wobbler was bad at first, they undergo therapy, medicamentations and most effectly muscle training, not let him stand still, they trained with him and he got much better as the horse learned to live with it. It will take a lot of patience with Risey, but I know you would never easily will give him up and the community def. will help out for the costs to come to make his life happier. Sure he probably wouldnt be able to get ridden, but does he has to? Risey is a living being and as long as he is happy and well for the time being its the best to wait and help him :)
