哇！很仔細的解說，可以瞭解你們真的做了非常多功課才選台灣。基本上台灣真的非常非常非常不有名，許多外國人是不會來的。我老公的德國朋友在台灣念書時，沒半個德國朋友說要來找他，結果去日本東京就業時，一堆德國朋友都要去找他玩。所以說你們真的算是很用心了，還願意花時間瞭解台灣這個小島國家。而且我也覺得你們的決定非常正確喔！你們的決策是對的！

I’m from NY. My wife is Taiwanese so I’ve been to taiwan about 6-7 times. Taiwan is a really nice place. Safe, friendly, lots of activities for kids (I have a 6 year old daughter), economy is pretty good, transportation is excellent, food is great. So in the end, if these are the reasons you chose to stay in Taiwan, then that’s fine. In the end I think you chose a great place to live your life. Just enjoy!

There are some foreign youtubers who mentioned they know nothing or few about Taiwan before moving here, but then stay longer than they expect. As a Taiwanese, it feels so great when knowing people from the world love Taiwan and willing to spend more their life in Taiwan. Of course, life in Taiwan will not always be that easy, some sacrifice should be made. But if it could, we just hope everyone living here is happy. PEACE

Taiwan was a more balanced choice among the 5 countries. We had better living standard than Laos and Thailand, even in the country side. Taiwanese people are as friendly and genuine as people in Thailand and Laos. There are too much pressure in Japan and Korea. William is the sweetest adventure in your life. You'll watch him grow up, leave to somewhere else, get married or maybe not... a sweet adventure throughout your life.

Very nice and objective explanation on why you choose Taiwan. I do hope more eligible foreigners long stay and work in Taiwan to contribute their knowledge and skill to help Taiwan globalization. They can become Taiwan citizen in the long run. It will be great if Taiwan can learn from Singapore to boost the economy by hiring more people with different nationality. I look forward to see this to be realized in 2020.

1998: Books and ICQ (aol) chat. Sounds archaic [with slow internet speeds] but in 1998 I went to the library for books, and ordered on amazon, an internet book retailer. Also, I chatted with people across the world with ICQ. Top favorites were Japan, So, Korea and Taiwan. Japan had foreign teacher program: JET up to age 35, but I was 37. [ later told I should have at least tried and applied]. Books said that Korea and Japan were Very orderly but people could be a bit stand-offish; Taiwan was more disorganized;,shuffled, polluted, but people more generally friendly. I looked around at my disheveled apartment and leaned toward Taiwan ! :-D I have a friend who has been in Taiwan for 20 years ! .. I stayed 1+ years and as the economy was booming back in the USA, decided to return in Oct. 2000. [arrived in ROC, mid July, 1999. Yes, there in September !] You may want to mention how, for tax purposes, best to arrive or start teaching before June 30 each year.

I agree with your viewpoint, safety is always the priority of conditions for immigration. I considered once if I have to immigrate, those countries which allow people to own guns are not on my list. No one wants his trip would be a final destination in their life. That's so dangerous.

真的英國對習慣台灣生活的人來說是不怎麼好玩的...晚上唯一有趣的事情就是喝酒，去不同的酒館，嘗很多歐洲啤酒，這個是不錯，但是台灣除了這個還有撞球間、夜市跟ktv，24小時的小七，這邊這樣的活動英國屈指可數，不然就是超貴，更別提很多男生喜歡的打球這邊根本沒人打... The UK really isn't that very fun for someone who's used to Taiwanese kinda lifestyle. The only really fun thing here is going out with your friends to different bars,trying different alcohols that is truly fun in itself. But other than that, there is no billiards place, night markets or ktvs, or if there is, they are super expensive anyway. On top of that, few plays basketball which is the favorite sport for many men in Taiwan. It is a good place for studying, making you concentrate, but not a real fun place to live (at least for Taiwanese or Chinese people at large)

Allen Love your videos all the time. Taiwan welcomes foreigners and loves foreigners except we need to safe guard our country against the Chinese , they have totally different motivations and goals toward us. Taiwan needs to be more open, more international like Singapore but we are free and democratic that Singapore isn’t.

I think regard the salary level, HK can offer u much higher than what Japan would have offered. But the living cost in HK is even more expensive than Japan
