Hear a song about Polish soldiers fighting in WWII performed by a Swedish band at a German festival... Priceless
@ronaldostrowski40145 жыл бұрын
I am Australian of part Polish descent whose late Polish veteran father fought the Germans as a member of the Free Polish Forces alongside their British and other allies. He has long passed away, but would be amazed by the sight of a new generations of Germans singing alongside this awesome Swedish Band remembering the brave deeds of the 700 Polish soldiers under the command of Latvian born Captain Ragnis. They fought off Guderian's 40,000 German troops backed by the Luftwaffe, panzers and artillery for THREE DAYS1 In 2017 I visited the monument to these almost forgotten Polish heroes After three days there were only 40 of them still alive in the bunkers and given the very high German casualty rate Guderian threatened to execute them all if they did not surrender. In light of this ultimatum their Latvian born commander ordered them to surrender, but threw himself on a grenade declaring that with his death Poland will eventually win out. And, now after 1989 his prediction has come to true. Indeed, it seems that Poland will never die. Thank you Sabaton for this remembrance of Polish heroes with such a stirring song. And, God bless Sweden for giving us with Polish connections such a talented and historically insightful band which has popularised many moments of Polish military history which most outside of Poland are unaware of. The same goes for all the other battles of other nations, including their own Sweden, which Sabaton commemorate in their awesome music and lyrics.

The performance is great, really... I must say, however, that... might piss some people off, but... this is only the Internet. Daniel Mullback has so far been the most impressive drummer for this band in my book. The guy has energy, he has the hits, it's like he contributes most to Sabaton's sound and feeling... even though it's just drums, may not be just drums, the guy dishes the stuff out there and he does it properly somehow. Daniel Mÿhr ... what can I say about him. I think the best thing I can say is that having a live keyboardist will always be better than using samples and additional tracks. The rest is only natural afterwards and it's much better.
