Even back then he WORE A MASK TO AVOID GETTING SICK - he always thought of his fans and wanted to avoid anything that would prevent him from performing or letting down fans counting on him to show up for concert dates! (He was ahead of his time on wearing a mask.) Poor MJ wasn't good at defending himself (as Macaulay Culkin pointed out in his interview with Larry King); not sure if he had a publicist but he should've had someone able to prep him better for interviews. And as for the interviewer's comment on what he wears - MJ was an artist - and who was she to even insinuate anything was wrong with his choices? He was private and may not have made his vitiligo public at that point (the reason he wore that single glove had been to hide the vitiligo and loss of pigmentation which had started showing on his hand); had he disclosed that sooner it may have saved him some persecution in the media, but maybe it was a source of anxiety for him (similar to acne in his teens); he just didn't blab about what he felt was private. She was just disgusting and rude, interrogating and accusing him like she did. He was a sensitive and kind-hearted human being, and one of the most generous and humanitarian people in the world (second only to Bill Gates in philanthropic activity at one point). MJ allowed this interview mistakenly placing trust in a journalist - he should've just continued not allowing any interviews with anyone, as he did for so many years prior to this. If he had a flaw, it was having too good a heart and trusting people, thinking they were like himself. He was too good for this world. RIP Michael Jackson.
