There really was a sort-of Hitchcock Renaissance in the early 1980s. The man himself had recently died. The Psycho sequels were beginning. Alfred Hitchcock Presents and many of his movies were getting increased television play. Culminating in the mid 80s with the rebooted Alfred Hitchcock Presents. So it was actually a pretty relevant pop-culture reference, believe it or not.

Hot wings Oreos? Can't imagine why they're NOT being sold here in the states. With a title like "Wacko," it makes me think that the movie will be bashing on Michael Jackson, much like how Wired bashed John Belushi. The killer looks like my version of Halloweenie, and this was long before Phelous made HIS version. 3:44- I wish this WAS that Power Rangers episode where they fight the pumpkin monster that raps. 6:58- Great, he's turning into Charles Brady from Stephen King's Sleepwalkers. 11:26- Terrific, and horror spoof with a school shooting. 14:08- This movie drops more pointless shit than a Seth MacFarlane production. 14:57- Worst Law & Order: SVU cold opening ever. 19:47- You're not the only one. I mean George Kennedy, Stella Stevens, Joe Don Baker, Julia Duffy, Andrew "Dice" Clay, Jeff Altman, Charles Freaking Napier?! I wonder how these filmmakers conned these big names into this. Also the jokes in this movie are...ASS, we have a incestuous Dad who has the hots for his Daughters, a Greaser who comes out to showtunes who may or may not have been possessed, and a Cop who so caffeinated he could power the Hoover Dam. In those days, most people had like five TV stations. It was a different economy where distributors were desperate for content, so they would release anything. But unlike KZbin, content was expensive to create. In the 70s, it was grindhouse theaters and drive-ins. In the 80s it was VHS. A lot of people were well aware that they were turning out nonsense, but it was their job, and they had fun with it. Like most slackers, they didn't feel much incentive to put more effort into their job and make it into actual work.

@1Hol1Tiger6 жыл бұрын
I get the feeling that they weren't making fun of pedophilia, so much as.... the director put his fetish (Creepy Old Men and Teenage Girls) into the film and passed it off as a joke. "Fetish passed off as joke" happens a lot more often than you'd think in creative works.... See Totally Spies where literally each episode is "What Transformation based Fetish happens to the girls this time? Hypnosis? Muscle? Furry? Dollification?" That said the whole... "Being scared of a Flasher until you notice he has a big dick" joke was kind of funny and the only thing that kills it is that it comes after an attempted rape....
