Hopefully this will answer a lot of questions people had for me and will help you guys better understand me. =)
For those who don't know: No, I am not yelling. I am merely just naturally loud. lol
If you have a character that you are making in a fanfiction who you wanna make sure is NOT a Mary Sue, you can use this Mary Sue Test to check and see if you went too far or not! =D
This test is 100% COMPLETELY unbiased and takes every single detail into account. It also provides Negative Traits AND Positive Traits to balance out your character with.
The rule is: If you score a 40 or higher, then that character is a Mary Sue, and you gotta go fix them and balance them out from there.
You can also use this test on characters other people have created as well, except the thing to take into account with it is: You cannot Check On any questions that apply to YOU, since you're not the one who made the character to begin with, so the margin of error is usually about 5 Points with that. Just make sure that you know EVERY LAST DETAIL about the character you're putting up to the test that isn't yours to get an accurate score.

Athrun is by far the best pilot in the Seed universe. 1) Unbeatable in Seed mode. 2) CQC which requires skill. 3) Can use grunt suits really well. 4) Can make use of transformable models which requires more skill. Like Aegis. Saviour not so much. 5) Saved Kira 4 times. (Orb, the two colony Mendel battles and the second battle of Orb)

Athrun never had a harem He was betroved to Lacus until they split and Lacus fell for Kira He developed a relationship with Cagalli, but it didn't go the full 9 yards He pretended to have a relationship with Meer Campbell, but he actively reminded her that it was a facade. Meyrin tried to hide Athrun from Durandel's security guards, but he never had a relationship with her. A harem in this instance is when someone has multiple women who are attracted to him. Sekai Kamiki is the PRIME example of this. Athrun is not because he not only never fully committed himself to any of these women, but each of these interactions happened one after another, and none of them were simultaneous.

Believe it or not, Superman is NOT as bad as everyone thinks he is. POWER ALONE does not make you a Mary Sue. It's how you MANAGE that power and how the world treats you. Superman DOES NOT consider himself as a God, he is infact a Christian who believes in God, he HATES IT when people worship him as one, and he also believes that he will never surpass the power OF God because he is still Mortal. So yeah, Superman isn't a Mary Sue. In many ways, however, he is cutting it really close, admittedly.

Do you what is sad about the remastered, they could of fix story/ characters of the show and make it better. But what did they did do? Wacky, for the Gaia, Abyss, and Chaos silhouette, I think you got it backwards. I think the reason those individual Gundams existed was to try and gather data; data that would be needed to actually create a silhouette version of all 3. Think about it for a moment, all those 3 Gundams exist for an extremely specified purpose. In order to create a silhouette for the Impulse that would accurately replicate the performance of those 3 suits, specialized combat data would need to come from those 3 suits. Not to mention that building those 3 separate suits would give you a good idea what kind of design, hardware, and physical features you'd need to achieve the results you'd want. With Gaia having superior land mobility like Waltfeld's LaGowe. The Abyss having superior underwater performance. And the Chaos being ZAFT's take on a mobile suit-like Moebius Zero. In summary the Gaia, Abyss, and Chaos exist as individual prototype mobile suits in which data can gathered from. Which will be used eventually to create their respective silhouette for the Impulse.

Hello wacky I got some questions because I just want a good explanation about what happened there: 1. How did the aile strike manage to block the dominion's Lohengrin? Aint it that a positron blaster cannon like that suppose to swallow a whole mobile suit? Or not? Does that mean that shield can block wing gundam's or wing zero's buster rifle's? 2. The akatsuki did the same thing with the Tann Hauser, but is the akatsuki's beam shield strong enough to block positron blaster cannon like that? I think the planet defenser from mercurius can block that big beam. 3. Why rey cannot shot down at least one of them goddamn DRAGOONS when he was fighting against kira in his SF? Rey to destroy the TS-MA4F Exus gunbarrels. I'm wondering why he can't do the same. Is it because it's too fast for him (LOL^^) 4. MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED DESTINY HD REMASTER-Episode 39:Kira of the Skies (ENG sub) this is the episode where kira got his new tor the SF, Holy shit. One of the ZAFT captains said that he destroyed 25 Zaku's and Gouf's in just under a 2 minute mark. Do you find it impressive? Tell me some mobile suits or gundams with their respective pilots who can beat kira's 2min? same scenario or not, GO! 5. IJ vs. Altron. Who takes this?

Strike and Akatsuki blocking Positron Blaster cannon is nonsense. It has been established that Positron cannon can only be blocked with Positron shield and Fukuda brushed it off just saying that he forgot.

You guys sitting down for this one? Here it goes: There are in fact two ways that SEED mode can be activated: The first method is when a character suddenly resolves to protect their allies or to strike down their enemies. SEED mode is shown as a falling seed which bounces once and explodes. The second method is that if a character has entered battle with a particular resolve, they may trigger SEED mode at will, and it is instead represented as a spinning seed which explodes in a vertical nova.

Murrue may have been meh as a captain, but Natarle Badgiruel, damn talk about 1 dimensional. Her way of thought was only military based, there was no outside personality like captains of other gundam series. Basically, her as a captain would have ended the show as we know it at JOSH-A, there is no way in hell without a drastic shift in character personality would she have been able to captain a renegade ship, that would be so against her military ideals and her personality was shaped by having been brought up in a military family, it just would have never worked out. Even near the end, she believed wiping out the plants was the best solution, it wasn't until the very end that she took a stand against Azrael. Much like Noa was a father figure on board White Base, Murrue was more of a mother figure, more evidenced in Destiny though. I agree about Talia as well. In terms of Archangel vs Minerva, if you're comparing SEED Archangel, I don't think the Archangel ever got the proper crew numbers. They even said half a billion times that the ship was very understaffed and even Halberton couldn't spare any crewmen to replace those lost at Heliopolis, which from the beginning episodes, looked like a very large number because Naterle mentions how only a small number of officers and crew hands actually made it out alive. That basically answers all your references about Kira taking off, Cagalli taking off, Sai's jealousy turned to hijacking, hell even when Lacus was able to explore the ship thanks to Haro. The only guards I ever saw on the Archangel were when the ship landed in the desert to great the rebels and Cagalli for the first time and there were only 3 of them. At JOSH-A, it's hard to tell...at that point it was determined that the Archangel was an unwanted force within the Earth Alliance, and I only remember people being transferred off of the already understaffed Archangel as opposed to being transferred onto.

Ok, after more checking it turns out that Shinn used Palma Fiocina properly THREE times, the 3rd time was when he was fighting the Strike Freedom, in that moment you can see Strike Freedom blocking what appears to be a BLUE BEAM. That happens in the anime at episode 41 ( In SEED Destiny HD REMASTERED) at 13:38

Yeah. Flay is an interesting character because she has actual flaws to her personality and character, and she develops as a better character, becoming a gooder person who tries to do the right thing. It's too bad and tragic that she was killed near instantly in the very last episode of Seed. It'll be interesting to see what would happen if she was still alive and not killed.

Shadow is the ONLY Mary Sue that is bigger than Lacus that I can find, so far. Lacus and Shadow are the two biggest ones I've encountered so far. Other God Mode Ones to look out for are: - Kira Yamato - Ryoma from Prince of Tennis - Sasuke Uchiha - Ichigo Kurosagi - Tsendo Souji from Kamen Rider - Batman, when he's with the Justice League (ONLY w/ the Justice League, not in his own Universe/Storyline)

This is probably a bit late on the uptake - and maybe a bit off-topic - but screw it. If we're talking about narrative issues, I'd like to list at least eight things that I think off-hand would have made GSD better. Now, I know there's far more wrong with the series then just eight points will likely cover, but these are the things I thought of off-hand. *1 - Pick a cast and stick with it - and then pick a focus for those characters and stick with it.* - In my opinion, no sentence in the English language characterizes GSD more then ‘identity crisis’; of the plot, of the events, of the characters individually and of the list of cast members itself. No, there’s nothing wrong with including a new cast, but you need to focus on them properly - most of GSD’s new cast was overshadowed by the original cast or killed off early on, and some members of the old were present just for short cameos while others on the new were either replicas of the old ones or barely expanded upon - and even some characters from the expanded universe, like Shiho Halnenfuss, were passed over entirely. The series had *serious* balancing issues when it came to cast - and that’s not to say I’d know myself on how to do it… but by god, I’ve seen *fanfiction* that’s done it better, so I know for a fact the devs could have done better. *2 - Put characters where they make the most sense to be and use them to that effect.* - Pretty much the only paring that really *worked* for the series was Athrun Zala as Shinn Auska’s mentor, the pair having a tentative bond that, like many other elements of GSD, was something of a shoutout to Zeta Gundam in that it mirrored the passive-agressive, uneasy teacher/student bond shared by Quattro/Char and Kamille Bidan. But few other of the character bonds really clicked together in a satisfactory way - even Kira and Athrun’s fighting was never really portrayed in a more sensible way, nor is Athurn’s reasoning ever compounded or secured, as shown when he effectively submits and practically *lets* Kira dismantle his Savior Gundam because his will falls apart and makes him hesitate. - Other developments are hinted to but never evolve, and others stagnate entirely - the ties between Athrun and Cagali are hardly ever resolved and Athrun seems to become the major focus of a love pentagon (himself, Cagali, Lunamaria, Meyrin & Meer) that also never gets resolved. There’s *hints* of it being the key reason Meyrin served on the Eternal in the finale as well as why Luna was so embittered and driven to fight him, but it’s never truly cemented, and properly showing these conflicts would really have helped possibly ground Athrun from how wishy-washy his character ended up in GSD. Hell, throwing in twists like having Athrun commit to someone new and let go of Cagali (I think it’s kinda hinted he got together with Meyrin in the final plus, but the lack of buildup makes this an atrociously lackluster scene at best) would have added a lot of humanization to the character by highlighting he’s not perfect in a *good/believable* way instead of a "herp-a-derp everyone screws up sooner or later because PLOT" kind of way. *3 - If a character is going to be portrayed differently then they were before, give us some damn context as to why.* - One of the biggest issues with SEED Destiny came from members of the old cast; for example, Cagali Yula Autha. In the past series she was a rather fiery rebel with, arguably, some authority issues stemming from father troubles. Granted, one could understand if she mellowed out a bit in the interim, but there is a difference between mellowing out and becoming outright submissive - or at least going straight from one to the other without any real reason being shown to illustrate this transformation aside from pure speculation. *Some* speculation is good, but when you’re missing enough information to spawn plot-holes, you’re not doing it anywhere near serviceably, let alone correctly. If you’re going to portray her like that, give deeper context into *why* she is accepting or doing things like this, or why, when her people are fighting, she’s wailing in agony about it instead of charging in trying to disarm them the way Kira is so gung-ho about doing. She only ever really showed hints of her old self during the ZAFT invasion of ORB where she went up against Shinn and all but forcibly deposed Yuna as leader of the nation at gunpoint. - There’s also Lacus herself - she was someone who seemed to not be above proactively changing the world and promoting peace, and yet when the world needed her the most she abandoned giving both factions a strong rallying figure post-war and instead went to live with Kira on an island. Granted, she eventually does what she should have done and become PLANT chairwoman to use all her influence and political status to try and steer the world clear of war (implied to be because Meer and her death inspired Lacus to be more permanently proactive in keeping war down), but this never answers the question of why she wasn’t doing this in the first damn place. Why did it take another war and seeing a stand-in doing what she should have been doing die in her arms to make her do what she should have done in the first place and use her influence to start uniting people? Things like this are never answered and the plot really suffers for it. - On a lesser note, there’s the relationship between Dearka Elsman and Miriallia Haw - apparently they got together and then broke up. Yeah it (them getting together) was hinted at in Gundam SEED, but we never saw any proof of this happening, that it would evolve to something actually romantic, or that it would end as well. What the heck happened here, and wouldn’t that serve as a nice contrast if they end up fighting against each-other again? And Yzak Joule is another gripe in how it’s clear he’s changed a bit - become less aggressive and actually regret some of the things he’s done - but it’s never contextualized. Again, a character like Shiho Halnenfuss being illustrated as a stabilizing presence in his life - even as just a second-in-command with a more platonic working-relationship as opposed to the romance I’ve seen people try to ship in fan fictions - would have been a better use of the characters then how they were used in SEED Destiny. *4 - Do not waste characters, especially if you act like they’re supposed to be important.* - Don’t introduce characters and portray them as important to the plot in some way if you don’t intend to develop them, and don’t create new characters for roles that old ones could have done perfectly fine in. The new extended - Sting Oakley and Auel Neider especially - were pretty much throwaways with the only one among them that mattered being Stella Loussier (or ‘Stellar’ as some have pronounced it I think), and them facing or helping Stella through her struggles or even being adversaries for her at some point would have built character development for them and Stella for their sibling-like bond as well as not making the other extended be dumb missiles. And don’t even get me started on Hinie Westenfluss, who was portrayed as an important ace in a brand-new Mobile Suit only to be arbitrarily killed as cannon-fodder and yet mourned by the crew as if he was some long-standing member of their compliment. Do not treat these character’s deaths as if they are important or immensely impactful if you either do not show them connecting to others or do not show enough of a connection to make the viewer themselves care when they die. *5 - Do not make arbitrary retcons when they are not in any way needed.* - Mu La Flaga (or Mwu La Flaga as some spell it) is the single biggest offender in this mess. With the existence of Rau Le Creuset being revealed as a clone of Mu’s father Al Da Flaga, as well as the fact that other Al clones like Rey Za Barrel existed, it would have been far more believable that “Neo Roanoke” was a clone of Mu - one of many created and the only one to survive and succeed where the others failed, which could be used to explain his many scars as being the result of combat tests inflicted on him to ensure he was equal or superior to his gene donor. - Hell, transplanting Mu’s memories into a clone of him (something we’ve seen with the Carbon-Humans of Librarian Works in the Gundam SEED Expanded-Universe manga and books) would have created a powerful driving source of character development in the form of an identity crisis for Neo as he struggles to decide if he is or wants to be the person he was made from or if he wants to be his own person, and the conflict of trying to differentiate the memories and experiences that are his own from those he inherited and explore what makes a man; his memories or his choices. You could also make it a character-point for Murrue Ramius (if one insisted on having her return) if, by way of Neo sharing Mu’s memories of her, they struggle to decide whether or not them having a romance is because Murrue loves Neo or is trying to be with the memory of Mu again, which would in turn touch upon her still-unresolved fear of losing those close to her that was prevalent all the way back in Gundam SEED and start developing and solving those issues - you know, instead of the utter mary-sue cop-out of having Neo be the original Mu and bypass all that potentially-interesting character development and all those hard grey-area questions that have defined past and future generations of Gundam series.

(I have to break this in three because I actually broke the Google-comment buffer. I didn&#39;t even know that was possible. ^_^; ) *6 - Keep the characters consistent and evolve them in a way that makes sense.* - This is a big paragraph even for me! Perhaps one of the biggest issues with the characters in GSD was that they had largely inconsistent portrayals. Now, this goes hand-in-hand with showing context into a character’s changes, but this touches upon *all* the characters as opposed to the old cast alone, and in having the character’s growth actually reflect the context they changed under in a way that makes actual sense. -Take Athrun’s escape with Meyrin - Shinn, after having developed in his time with Stella to learn ’some people are forced to make wrong choices for what they believe in’ and after how Shinn himself defied superior officers and Drandall himself to return Stella to the Alliance to save her life, he’d have learned the same lesson Kira and Athrun learned in the past war; ’sometimes you have to do what you think is right regardless of what the higher-ups think is best.’ His taking down Kira would have also shown him that he has what he needs to overcome the obstacles in his path if he simply sets himself toward that goal properly. Yet when he’s told Athrun is on the run and Meyrin seemed to choose to leave with him, Shinn’s first reaction is “that bastard!”/ to blame Athrun as though he seduced, brainwashed or abducted Meyrin and betrayed them without reason, and doesn’t even question the order to kill Athrun or why. When talking to Athrun, he doesn’t believe him or even trust his word, and, in a machine as advanced as the Destiny, he should have had no trouble disabling Athrun’s GOUF instead of defaulting to carrying out the kill-order; showing him be torn up about killing Athrun and Meyrin later is nonsensical because they did not show him hesitating to strike killing blows nor ever deeply protest or even question why they had to kill Athrun as opposed to detain him, or even ask why Meyrin’s life was an acceptable casualty. Hesitation in the strikes and badgering Athrun alone for answers instead of asking his superiors for answers as well does not make sense for Shinn’s character as, even if you want to play the ‘PTSD instability card’, that should not have been an issue until after he’d seen the Freedom return, which it hadn’t by that point. - The evolution of Meer Campbell is another bit of glaring development because she seems to become obsessed with being Lacus just because she was a fangirl of hers. Instead, a more realistic and interesting take would have been to have Meer become obsessed or driven with best representing the *image or message* that Lacus strove to promote as opposed to obsessively wanting to become the individual herself. For example, the fact that Lacus withdrew from world affairs after the first war ended, instead of using her influence to properly try to subdue new wars from igniting; a good character development point would have been for Meer to want to be a Lacus stand-in because she wishes to use Lacus’ influence to do what Lacus herself should have been doing with it in the beginning - uniting people, calming them from a panic and trying to sooth the flames of war *before* they get too bad. It would also be interesting if Meer had a bit of ‘hero-worship disillusionment’ by comprehending that her idol wasn’t infallible and that Lacus’ lack of direct input in global issues may have largely contributed to the second war’s outbreak, as well as the fact that, even though she promoted peace, Lacus wasn’t innocent or above having people fight on her behalf or for her goals the way any of the other military leaders were. This would have bred introspection which in turn would openly force Lacus to confront the contradictions in her ideas and lingering hypocrisy in her actions and on how she may or may not be any different - or justified - then Durandall, and in turn have Meer become a more developed character by not having her obsessively become Lacus but instead simply consider herself to have or want to be a *better* Lacus; one that was there for the world as an open symbol of public affection and caring, calming influence, instead of what could almost be called an insurrectionist or separatist leader who worked from the shadows and practically promoted hypocritical extremes. - Athrun is another case of this, though his is largely reaction-based due to the screwed-up nature of the plot. He does not know what his ideals are or which side he really wants to be on or why he’s even fighting, and never seems to evolve in a way where he truly gets a defined answer for what it is he’s done or is continuing to do by the end. He’s one of the more well-done characters in the series, but that in turn makes indecisions from him more painful. Another rather big element comes from Durandal, who’s standing as the antagonist by the end comes across as somewhat abrupt and far too extreme and non-introspective compared to what we know of him. - Other characters like Lunamaria and Rei have really, *really* heal-turn-face moments, such as when Kira convinces Rei to turn on his motivations with *one goddamn sentence in the final battle*, or when Luna just starts hooking up with Shinn one episode after her sister supposedly died and asking questions even less then Shinn did, even when her observation of Athurn with the Archangel crew would give her the biggest opportunity to start self-actualizing as a character. Half the new characters - ones who were on the title-screen of the intros - were pretty much either useless or shoved aside by the second half of the series. *7 - War is not simple - if you’re going to have a series about the effects of war, show some goddamned introspection. * - One of GSD’s biggest issues was the arbitrary black-and-white morality they painted much of the conflict under, yet never really seemed to show the characters acknowledge this in a way that was done in Gundam SEED. Granted, that’s not to say Gundam SEED did it perfectly either, but it still did so a heck of a lot better then then Gundam SEED: Destiny did. If you’re going to portray war as bad, try not to do it so arbitrarily - show the different sides and spectrums more effectively, and show that the good guys’ goals aren’t infallibly ‘good’. Granted, they *hinted* to this in that some of the cast remarked that there wasn’t any way to confirm or deny Durandall’s plan as unsound or not, but they never really took the time to highlight *any* real interpretive positives regarding the Destiny Plan or anything to show it in any form of interpretive of even real justifiable system. - Likewise, we never are allowed to see the ‘fault in our stars’ - we are never shown the mistakes or flaws of Kira and Lacus or the like, such as how their rampant interventions in every conflict against all sides could have bread paranoia and further resentment and, upon Lacus revealing her role in things, damage faith in her intents because people should rightly be asking ‘what the hell did you think you were doing hiding while the world went to shit? Why are you coming out to try and fix things after it all fell apart instead of before?’ Opening doubts in the path they’ve taken *aside* from some arbitrary hand-waves at the end would have gone a long way in developing things.

+Smith Baran (Final bit!) *8 - If you’re going to have someone be a main character, give them the supports they need and, dare I say, deserve to have.* - Contrary to most of the hate I see, I actually liked the concept behind Shinn Auska’s character, even if I wasn’t personally a fan of the character himself (or his GSD execution at least). Yes he was a brash, antagonistic jerk who hardly paid attention to the bigger picture and cared even less about doing so, was rebellious and had a chip on his shoulder the size of GENESIS - but those things all made him a good foil to the passive, pacifistic, wide-eyed innocence that Kira Yamato originally had in Gundam SEED’s first parts. - Dare I say it, I may hate Shinn’s attitude - a scornful, petulant, aggressive brat - but I can still admit that this is actually a pretty realistic thing to expect from someone marred by PTSD & Survivor’s Guilt who felt spited by the world and everyone in it as his family died as the unwritten casualty of a war they didn’t even want a part in, breeding a desire to have the power to change that one day so as to never have to lose anything again and in turn never see others lose what they care for. Now, one could say this is contrasted by how Shinn only applies this view to unarmed people and to ZAFT/Coordinators, but that in turn wasn’t exactly much different from how Kira was more apt at first to do the same for his immediate friends or for Athrun with his squamates in the beginning of SEED; humanizing those you know over those you don’t or are actively fighting against is pretty much human nature. - It also would serve as a point for to learn from others who went through these traumas - even some Fanfiction stories have done this better by having characters such as Athrun point out to Shinn that, in his mobile suit, Alliance soldiers are as helpless against him as the civilians were against the Alliance; and yet, when Shinn had the power in his hands, he didn’t give a second thought to killing them, forcing Shinn to think about the times he *has* or even might in fact have used the power in his hands callously - moments that would have allowed Shinn to see contrasts and gain realization and depth into his actions and the effects. It was touched upon in his bond with Stellar but never really given true focus after that - which in turn can largely be attributed to how Shinn’s character, in spite of him supposedly being a protagonist, was left by the wayside for the sake of developing Kira and Athrun. - As a result, one could say that a lot of Shinn’s lack of character development at the endgame comes from the fact that the writers never gave him the situations he needed to grow in - or rather, that they were there but he was never placed in them. His past makes Shinn aggressive but also a bit introverted and attached to the few things he’s let in past his guard, so someone has to proactively get him out of his shell. He was never in situations where that happened, even when there were people like Athrun, Hinie and the like who *would* have gone out of the way to speak with Shinn. - A good example for a dynamic like this would have been to have both Athrun and Yzak be his foils on the Minerva - one to be the more gentle yet stern voice of reason to coerce Shinn into introspection or confide and work alongside, and the other to be the hardliner that can actually stand up to, force back and apply discipline to Shinn when he goes too out of line. The two could also reinforce each-other and pull the other one back if one is being too lenient or too aggressive on Shinn respectively, and also be able to tell when one should or shouldn’t speak with him. There were never such opportunities presented for Shinn to get to truly learn by the end, so at the end his character degraded. If someone is going to make him protagonist, he should have the tools needed to ensure he not only succeeds but flourishes - he had a path he could have, if not should have, been able to walk down to this effect, but it never was placed together. I know I’m probably missing a lot more on how this series could have been improved, but this is the stuff off the top of my head when it comes to story at least.

Also I'd like to point out that the Destiny isn't punching through the Destroy's armor, as the energy is already emitting from the hand. Which seems to be how it's able to pierce through that thick hide. Also I saw the fight again between the Impulse and Freedom. You were right about the sword.

Taking up space on your comments is the last thing I want to do, but a reason why I'm so fond of UC is because of that desperation and how there is tragedy and clear character development. Millions could die in seed and wing and the audience generally doesn't care. One guy dies in 0080 and it feels like onions shoved in your eyes.

The official reason why the Chaos, Gaia and Abyss packs were scrapped was because they deemed them ineffective for their purposes, so they simply made 3 mobile suits to take these tasks better (The packs were too specialized for the Impulse to preform well). The Destiny Impulse, I can't really vouch for. It eventually spawned the Destiny Astray frame *shudders* but other than that it isn't very notable. Apparently it strained the power of the Impulse too much to be used as a seprate pack.

My guess to why they didn't mass produce the Impulse because it would cost a lot more money and resources to mass produce Core Splendors and attachable body parts. The Core Splendor is the most vital part of the Impulse, so if it gets shot down before or during his formation, there goes an entire mobile suit before it can even take action. I think that's why they decided to just build full mobile suit bodies for Gaia, Chaos, and Abyss.

As for the technology, I actually plan to emphasize something that I don't has been explored in combat: Anti-Beam combat. That be a main strategy for the FNA since by the end of Destiny, ZAFT and Terminal almost completely relied on Beam Weaponry. Speaking of weapons, I got three swords for you: Phase Shift Blades. Weapons layered with Phase Shift that can cut through VPS armor and even deflect solid weapons. And in my fic, the Gundams aren't the only mobile suits with Phase Shift.

The information we got there one the unused packs was...limited at best. We've only got maybe...5 sentences each for each of the packs, and slight cameo's in Destiny Astray, so it's not much to go on. I think the real reason is just to sell more model kits. In-universe, however, it just happens to be another excuse for not being original (which Astray seems to be getting used to, since N-Providence isn't the only redesign in the more recent chapters...)

Wacky, is it wrong that I hate Seed and 00 more than the others? Ten episodes into season 1 of 00, I just couldn't take it. My strong feelings tell me the reason I hate them with a passion is because they're closer to other mainstream over-produced-crap animes than they are to the atmosphere of older/other gundam series(0079, Zeta, 0083, etc.) Yes, I'm fond of UC, but the thing that boiled my blood most about 00 was it's chronological f***ed up-ness.(alterna-verse, I know) What's your opinion?

***** Hi Wacky, about the Silthouettes of the Impulse you mentioned, I think it's like this. First point is, there are only five Mobile Suit that were developed in the beginning of Seed Destiny, those are: the Gaia, Abyss, Chaos, Savier and Impulse. At that time the Impulse only have 3 Silthouette. Then later in Gundam Astray Series, someone on the Serpen Tail or Junk Guide or whatever created the other 3 Silthouette. Those ones go well with the Impulse, so they use them. Does that explain why the Impulse have the Gaia, Abyss and Chaos Silthouette but they still build the other 3 Gundam?

If I remember correctly, the Destiny was actually the scraps from the original SEED as the proposed design for the Freedom. It could be argued that the Destiny's design was never updated from that time, and thus the Arondight's look was carried over as well.

Watched a few of your videos and love how objective you are with the flaws of GS/GSD. I always just watched the Gundam series (and most anime in general) with a lot of suspense of disbelief since it's meant to be entertainment, but some of the points I never thought of and got a kick out of (especially the freedom vs impulse explosion). I do have a differing opinion about "security" on the mobile suits on the Archangel, though. I think in the original SEED when people snuck out with the MS most of it was before they could be resupplied with additional personnel. Like up to the Skygrasper point you mentioned, weren't they always short on personnel? I mean it doesn't seem like they ever had the chance to get more members. Plus, the Archangel members probably had more "trust" for each other (not that it's a good thing all the time) so they might not have had that as a top priority to guard the MS at the hangar.

No, that was not properly. He grabbed the Destroy's head on that one and THEN pulled the trigger. That's pulling a Shining Finger right there. The only two times where he's used it properly were the two that I showed in this video.

Wacky: Why did they make a gundam out of the Chaos, Gaia, and Abyss silhouette? my answer: Maybe they felt the Impulse wasn't the best platform and felt they could get more use out of making a more dedicated gundam. Besides, if you compare the Chaos, Gaia, and Abyss to their Impulse counterparts, I think those worked out better and are better equip than just slapping that equipment onto the Impulse. Plus, the designs for the Chaos, Gaia, and Abyss are superior to their Impulse counterparts, not to mention, the Gaia's mobile armor mode is much more practical than the Gaia Impulse's. >.> Also, and I know Gundam wiki could be mistaken on this, but I read that these 3 silhouettes are imaginary variants, just an idea that some egg head came up with. So I think its safe to assume they aren't canon like the Forced, Sword, and Blast silhouettes (and sadly, the Destiny Silhouette seems to be canon too, but we can just pretend it doesn't exist)

Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny aired when I was in my early teens, just after puberty, and entering the pretentious teenager phase of my life. That, combined with the fact that I selected drama and philosophy as subjects to study in high school in addition to the essentials made me buy into all of the melodrama BS big time. Now, over a decade later, listening to you talk about its problems, especially when you talked about le Cruset, was hilarious. Lol

I don't see WHY they were deemed ineffective? O_o Their designs were TOTALLY FINE! I couldn't notice a single thing wrong with them! The Impulse's Modularity seems way more cheaper to mass-produce as well as much better in battle strength than the Chaos, Gaia, and Abyss themselves were. O_o

1.) Not really? There are plenty of other gundams that do that too. 2.) I do like the Legend, but I STRONGLY prefer the Providence over it, since I don't like that they downgraded the D.R.A.G.O.O.N. System.

Not a question but a statement: I know the turn A is uber power, i even asked why it was so OP to you b4, but there is a way to beat it. The t-A uses a moonlight butterfly that sends out nanobots, right? A way to counter this, which hardly anyone every thought of or didn't mention, was that nanobots can be countered by high-frequency radiowaves, like gamma rays or even specialized particles. So yeah, countered that one. And also, i don't think turn a ever teleported beams into cockpits. right?

+WackyModder84 I'm not sure I buy the "Impulse is referencing Strike" point. For me, referencing fits if there're from 2 different franchises/universes. ex: Zaku (GSD) Zaku (MSG); DOM Trooper Dom (MSG); 'Destiny' finger God Finger;... (Come to think of it, I think Impulse should ref the original Gundam [core fighter + upper body + lower body], but there are numerous MS that possess this mechanism (Victory Gundam, etc), so I don't know) However, Strike and Impulse are within the same franchise. (heck, their production + debut is PHYSICALLY just years apart). AND I'm pretty sure Durandal at one point said something about "the Impulse and Minerva taking an important role, just like the Strike and the Archangel did in the last war." or something like that. so rather than 'referencing', I would say 'inspired' or 'stealing ideas'. If you really HAD to blame for lack of originality, blame Durandal + his production staff for basing the Impulse on the Strike.

(except for the Destiny Sil.,that's actually correct) and they did mention this in GSD: Astray manga. Of course, I'm just bringing this up as a controversial point. But I am GLAD they didn't bring up those 3 Sil. in the finalized version, cuz if it is, I am gonna PUKE and SHIT at the same time when I see that Gaia Impulse in action in MA form. ***** If you're pointing out about the Saviour referencing Wing Zero + Zeta cuz of their transformation mechanism, then I would probably say 'they had no choice'. Considering that the Saviour had to fly within Atmosphere with a shield of that particular shape, I can't think of any other form it can change into. Unless you want it to transform into something similar to a ReZEL, but that form can't fly within atmosphere now, can it?

This of course excluding the white mecha, who's weapons are not only practically on par with its opposing, but the pilots are also very skilled, and almost all of their battles end in a stalemate . Also, the masked man also, through out the series, has his fair choice of the ladies, and eventually stops wearing the mask and reveals his true identity of the world. The masked man and the pilot of the white mecha are also best friends, who do to circumstances, must fight eachother.

It's just that I notice in anime, it's usually fast or speedy characters that can do these things like cutting giant objects in half even if the sword isn't big. I always thought it was a cultural thing due to the way swordsmen and samurai are portrayed in their media.

So when I saw dynasty warriors Gundam, it somehow grinded my gears seeing funnels being used on earth or the Gundam slaying two-thousand Zakus in the span of three minutes. Currently my favorite game for Gundam is what I believe to be the most realistic to date: Crossfire(or 'target in sight'). CHRIST, look at all this! I could've just sent a PDF or something, sheesh.
