Incredible interview. Wade Cox is all heart - what a great human. Marcus, thank you for giving this sport and it’s legends a voice. I discovered this sport in ‘88 when I was 14 years old through a copy of WaterSki magazine I bought at the Ski Unique slalom shop in Sand Springs, OKlahoma. Bought my first ski, an HO Mach 1 a year later and followed all of the pros since. These interviews and the archival footage bring up so many sweet memories and emotions. You’re an incredible interviewer. Please keep this going. Track down Roberge, Kjellander, Overton, et al. Let’s hear from them! Thanks again, man, for sharing your gifts and passion with all of us.

What an amazing interview and very real. Wade Cox is the best storey teller I have ever met. He inspired me in many ways, probably more off the water than on. Well done guys.

Love watching your interviews MB, keep up the amazing work. The first ski I ever brought was an HO VTX in 1994... I was 14 and saved every penny for 2 years to buy that ski - Wade was my skiing idol. So good to hear these stories from the 90's

Awesome to see this today, I just skied today with Wade coaching (and driving), awesome to see a sport passed down from a point of excellence. Great times!

Just came across this... thank you, for the great interview, keeping it real, and touching on the history of the sport. I do wish the sport was more visible to the public like the old days on the wide world of sports and the early days of espn... it is what got me and my buddies interested in trying the sport. Didn't learn until I was in my early 20's, skiing behind an old 16' Tahiti with a 100 hp outboard Merc on an O'Brien Competition (black/silver top with the green bottom) out on the Columbia. Bought my first ski soon thereafter, the first production HO T1 (still have it) and thought I was hot shit! LOL Have always just been an open water recreational skier, never really learned how to run bouys as that just wasn't accessible for us. So, watching you guys run course is always an inspiration as was/is Tony Klarich doing his thing. Love to ski even at my old age. :-)

Really enjoyed this interview and getting to know both you and Wade more through the process. I immediately hit subscribe and notify. This is valuable content - to bring the human side of the skiers in the great sport of waterskiing that we love. I met Wade at the 1999 PanAm games but didn't know much about him at the time. I too, rode a VTX from 1994. I guess I'm 'an old guy' as Wade says in the vid. Nice work Marcus.

great interview! Marcus please tone down the language

Melissa Eells you’re right. I’m working on it. Was just a bit emotional during this conversation. I’ll tone it down tho.
@71MWhite4 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree. The language just reflects real emotion which is just what we all want to see, not staged sterile media trained stooges. Wade opened up to you because of who you are MB, a nice guy who shoots from the heart

I am probably not your target audience but why all the F's this and F that? Does not endear a HO fan having just purchased and HO ski. Just why? I cannot show this to my kids. But guess I do not have dreadlocks and use the word dud! But a real pity. You can be cool but do not have to use the F word. Huge fan but this is just amateur and sad.

Giles, I'm sorry to offend you. Why? Well, to have an organic and authentic discussion between two buddies, sometimes you have to relax some of the formalities a bit. I could keep the cursing down, I agree... But will it ever go away completely? Probably not. I want these FlowPoint interviews to be as real and candid as possible, and sometimes that means letting the hair down and being real. Dropping an "F" word every now and then is about the most harmless thing I could think of, when compared to the return on investment it gets me in a one on one conversation with one of my peers. To be honest, there are more prevalent issues in our sport right now. Regardless, the majority of the demographic sitting down to watch these 30-90 minute interviews, aren't going to be kids anyway. BUT, I hear you, and I will take your concern into account, and try to tone things down moving forward. Just remember, its impossible to please everyone. And in this instance, I'm sorry you were the one that came away feeling less than satisfied with the approach I chose to take during this (and other) interviews. I assure you, it is in know way a reflection of who I am as a human.
