Wade Fishing for Trout on the White River Beaver Tailwater | Parker Bend Access

Beautiful late June I decided to hit up one of my favorite fishing holes on the white river.
Woke up early to beat the heat and stopped off at the Beaver Dam Store for some jerky and indicators. I was blessed to meet one of our amazing subscribers at the store which was awesome. I then drove on down to the Parker Bend Access parking lot and got geared up and hit the water.
The water was crystal clear and was blanketed with a cool Ozark fog. Fishing was slow but once the sun burnt off the morning fog the fishing picked up. Just a wonderful day chasing trout and bluegill. LOL
The tailwater of Beaver Dam is part of the White River system and is one of my favorite Ozark tailwater fisheries. Just eight miles long it is heavily stocked with rainbows and brown trout like many other Arkansas and Missouri tailwaters.
The tailwaters is easily wadable in many places when the water is low, but when the dam is generating and the water is high it's almost impossible to wade and can be extremely dangerous.

How to with Jigs: Suspend a small Marabou Jig (1/125 oz) below a strike indicator 18 to 24 inches depending on depth of water. Drift the jig downstream with the wind or current or just let it sit still. Sometimes popping the jig and float and hesitating between pops is effective. I used 6X tippet with this setup.

Heading up to SW Missouri to visit family in a couple weeks. Have been eyeing this fishery for a couple years. Good info in this video. It is on our list to fish this year along with a few other common and not so common spots we've fished over the last few years. Thanks again for the good video. Hey, that's awesome! No misprint and no thinking at all 😀 no but seriously 5wt rod or even 4wt can get it done. I might jump to my 7wt to help in the wind. No not Wisconsin. The White River is approximately 720-mile river that flows through Arkansas and Missouri. The White River was modified via dam construction to form a series of artificial reservoirs for the purpose of flood control, as well as hydroelectric power generation, water distribution and management, and recreation. -Beaver Lake in northwest Arkansas -Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo in southern Missouri -Bull Shoals Lake as the river loops southward into northern Arkansas Downstream of Bull Shoals Dam, the White River returns to its natural state as it heads southeast through the eastern Ozark-St. Francis National Forest.
