ANNOUNCEMENT: I say in the video I have seen all of Shin's AGT performances. This is wrong. I have NOT seen his quarterfinals act where he performs the same basic routine as he did in this video. My bad for the miscommunication! This was the first time I had seen this act of his.

He was rehearsing a crossbow illusion. Thats what caused his accident. This performance was dividedd into 2 for AGT the first part with Olivia Munn and the second part the live show.

I have to say Shin Lim is such an inspiration and the story he told about his surgeries he had from his hands and how he overcame them through therapy which was awesome to hear and see from him. I have to say I am always amazed and fooled by the tricks he does and how he does them so carefully and slick which is so cool. I have to say I love the hair myself and wish I could have that kind of hair myself haha:) I am loving Shin Lim as much as you are buddy:) I am loving your reactions to the magicians which is awesome to see you talk about Shin Lim and others you check out which is cool:)

When you know some things, and do some things, yes, you can see SOME of his moves... But - MANY are not explainable on this plane of existence. Shin Lim's the Houdini of card magic.

The best thing about Shin Lim is that he can show you how to do his tricks and you’re still fooled. He is the greatest card magician of all time. I hope he can be the first to fool Penn and Teller 3 times. #ShinIsAmazing
@Flanole6 жыл бұрын
I think his hands are fake and they have slots the cards come from and disappear to... Okay I have no earthly idea how he does it or how you do what you do but I am totally fascinated by it all. Sort of like it was magic!

I love your reactions. On Penn's podcast he expressed his theory of why today's card and manipulation-magicians are so much better than the generations before: In the past you learned tricks your teacher could demonstrate in front of you. If you read it from a book, it also had to work on your first few tries or you'd assume the directions had an error. Even VHS, the demonstrator had to be able to do the trick right once all the way through while recording. ...but with the Advent of cheap digital editing combined with jump cuts and digital foolery, teachers are showing tricks they can only do 1/50 tries per move, and splicing or photoshopping the good tries together into a nearly impossible performance... ..young students, unaware of being conned, work for hundreds or thousands of hours and master it, thinking "this guy makes it look easy, I'm not gonna be the only loser who can't do this," and thus the treachery of the scammers upped the game. In the process they may come up with a better technique too, so it gets them thinking about processes. It's like how nobody ran a 4 minute mile until one guy did, and the next year many runners could. Now it's not even good enough to qualify for most races. So keep pushing yourself in KZbin or magic or whatever you care about, and don't be afraid to drop them if you discover something that matters more to you.

2:58 This is the one that confuses me the most. Was there a screen jump, or something? The cards literally appear in his hands out of nowhere.

Are you fu*king serious ??? He did all of that on AGT and he spelled "I love America's got tallent" and then he changed "I love" to "Vote for Shin Lim".. Why you act like you have never seen this before? Please don't take this like a hate because it is not. I like your reactions but it is strange to see you react to this performance, which he did on AGT and you reacted to it, like you are seeing it for the first time. That is the only thing that i dind't like about the video. P.S. The reaction that you made, when Penn wanted to show him something, was awesome :D
