Respect Finn for interviewing a band you’ve been critical of!

To many people associate criticism with dislike or an attack. Painters understand the painting won't be beautiful to everyone.

Unfortunately I think some ppl in this scene never grew out of the mall scene kids arguing over what is the best screamo band. Most of us nowadays are adults and as such we should be able to debate ideas and music tastes freely, yeah Finn has been critical of them but equally recognised the worth in their music, and maybe he didn't like some of their songs but can like others, you are allowed to like and dislike different songs/albums from the same artist and as adults should be able to talk about it without being arseholes. I'm glad both Finn and Wage War are adult enough to be able to sit down and debate stuff. That's all it is realistically.

This is what adults do. We can critique and still talk. It leads to better understanding. I'm glad Finn is standing out and doing this as well

Watching an interview between a band and one of their vocal critics is just so real. We never really see these moments where these bands actually discuss and directly address some of their common criticisms, so this is really historic to me in a way.

Loved this interview/podcast! Wage War seem like really level-headed guys. Really like how they handled your criticism in good stride. So entertaining

It's crazy how much this band has blown up. I remember seeing these guys around all the time growing up in the Leesburg area in the Empires days and I actually had some college classes with Cody back in like 2015. Their success is a huge inspiration to me and my friends

I sincerally hope one day archtiects and wage war do a co headliner tour. Maybe cody could hop on stage during architects set and play some riffs with them

@@Wheeleyeam True. The Knotfest opener is big but I think by next album they can prove it more. Knocked Loose and Bad Omens are also killing it for younger bands.

Been a fan of a wage war since deadweight and recently got the privilege of seeing them on beartooths tour and let me tell you yall fucking smack live. Pressure is definitely one of my all time favorite albums. Pressure has a mix of everything wage war has to offer and then some.... love this band

Few interesting notes from the video I found interesting: It was interesting hearing them talk about Octane. I dont know anyone who has sirius radio. The only time I've ever heard Octane was in a more "edgy" brewery in Denver. My wife and I went with some friends to hang out and I heard Beartooth...asked what was playing and they said Octane. I think that is a perfect description of octane, "Edgy Brewery Music". Different enough to attract an edgier crowd but not so scary if a normal person hears it they'll just walk out lol. Also found it really interesting how they mentioned that "we are about" to see a shift to singles. Im pretty sure you've been talking about that for like 2 years now and was, of course, first picked up on by BMTH. It is interesting to hear first hand from a band that thinks this is new when in reality they're late to the party. Not really a fan of the music but was a good interview and interesting to hear from them first hand about a the less than positive reception of their 3rd album.

Exactly. I think they lost a lot of steam from making that album. No one really talks about them as much now.

Really interesting to hear a band that could be described as "generic metalcore" reflect on that so candidly. I actually just gave these guys first album a chance and I think its pretty a pretty fresh take on metalcore especially for 2015.
