It is said " The conventional army loses if it does not win, but the guerrilla wins if he does not lose.
The culmination exercise for Green Berets takes place in the fictional country of Pineland. The Green Beret students link up with a guerrilla force and wage an unconventional war against their common enemy.
This exercise is called Robin Sage

@@jae0113 It's definitely not bad. But none of those guys are hired on the same contract as Sage. They are more regular contracts for point sitters because they are needed for SFAS and for SUT, when they do the Star Course again. It's still not full time and is 1099 work, but it's much more regular than the G work. A lot of guys do both.

We didn't lose in Afghanistan or Vietnam on the battlefield because our military has almost always been highly trained and highly motivated. That being said the enemy knows that they don't have to beat America's best. They just have to beat a politician who's much less motivated, dedicated, and far easier to "defeat" than the best trained best equipped fighting force ever to see a battlefield.

As a member of the 82ND ABN, I directly participated in 3rd phase twice. Some of the best training I was ever involved in. I made contact as a (PINELAND) NCO, got captured by OPFOR, interrogated with cold freeing water at gunpoint overnight by same, escaped with my SF counterpart, made it back to insurgent base camp, got rimmed / critiqued by the SF training cadre OIC, drove on with the missions, got frostbite in the Uwharrie National Forest and PINELAND eventually won. Best training ever. Funny note... in the 80s and 90s, some of the SF we were helping to train / support were from other countries, central America, east Europe, etc. and they were hardcore, we learned a lot from them...

Asking honesty, do you feel if civil conflict happens, some people though not military trained can still be effective and helpful if they have the intelligence and minor training behind them? meaning, military (i have much in my family, veil from hill 3 in korea) but i did not go, tried but couldnt, but military i assume obviously trains tried and tested skillsets, but do you think some of it is common sense if put in a situation and can be learned and affective to a nontrained civilian? I would think yes, obviously going up against Special Forces or Mrines etc you are fucked, but in civil conflict not all enemies are other military. So curious on your thoughts and thank all for you service. Im very good at war gaming information and analytics, i wish i would of gone into it, but started computer science for HP at 17 in 2003, and been doing it since. I just see lots and to me it appears common sense, but then again many people dont have creative mixed with logical personality traits, so again, just curious on your thoughts. Also, what can we do to best prepare us as civilians, for civil conflict? I have been war gaming this geo political take over for one world gov for over a decade, and see this open borders all over the world, destroying of culture and bringing in "thought" crimes, is the end game so worry two things (1. They WILL NOT LET THIS ELECTION LET TRUMP IN) or (2. Push for WWIII to start a unity and reset the global politics under one authoritarian at the end (either way either from foreign or local, i 100% think and have been seeing this since obama, that conflict will be here state side within the year. Thanks

Hey you are probably on point I think a controlled 3rd world war is coming and after they will come out the bunkers with well supplied SF to kill resistance and act as our saviours with medicine food, shelter and we will listen to the evil doctrines they lay down for us all a complete brainswash globally. Banning religious texts closing down the church and perhaps using a sort of pope to form a new religion combination with Hinduism, Islam and Judaism as such but wiping out Christianity.
