Todd Gerhardt it was good and the meat was rich. Definitely a way better cut than what you typically find at Walmart. I sous-vid the steak for two hours at 128, and then finished it off on a cast iron skillet. Next time I’ll give it a try on the grill.
@Todd_G_FPV4 жыл бұрын
I cook my ribeyes on a cast iron skillet most of the time about a medium high heat at 4 minutes per side on a nice thick cut. Normally I get the thick 3 packs of angus ribeyes at sams club but they're the same at Walmart I no longer buy the cheaper ones in the white packaging they always seem tougher
@MrGoldHat044 жыл бұрын
Todd Gerhardt it’s hard to beat that sear on a cast iron. Sam’s is typically our go-to place to buy steaks, as well. It’s hard to beat the price on what the offer for prime beef. Walmart is actually starting to carry prime cuts in the blue packaging, which is great.

I enjoyed mine. Cast iron, salt and pepper, garlic, thyme and rosemary to finish, and good olive oil.... it was pretty great .

wagyu. is just becomming a label at this point. wagyu means cow in japanese. and real "wagyu" you would differentiate by the region it is produced in, like matsutaka or kobe. i think that it is overall a good thing that living condiotion for the cows get bedder, as to achive the bedder quality of steacks, so they can label them wagyu. but i wont be long where every thing will be labeld wagyu and it will be nochting more than a cheap label so they can ask a higher price. i dont like it at all.

You are correct, suddenly every steak with high marbling is wagyu, it is just steak, wagyu is from Japan..

Walmart does have a delicious small selection of ribeye, New York strip, ground beef, and already made patties of wagyu where I'm from in Tampa Florida
