I always love to see videos of you in japan I was born and raised in Japan and you can places that will have cheaper wagyu like you go to some 焼肉 "Yakiniku" or "Japanese BBQ" 食べ放題 "Tabehōdai" "all you can eat" you can find some rather cheap wagyu like I have one near me in Sendai where I can get 3.3 kg (6.5lbs) of wagyu (this is A5 9 or 10) for all of me and my friends (there is 8 of us) for only about 29,000¥ (about $180 usd) this also incuded 2 rounds of beer( 2 pints) for everyone. (Sorry if any english is bad) i loved this video and always love to see you enjoying Japan, Thank you so much for enjoying Japan and love our food and culture we have to offer.

@@samsham8218 This isnt that uncommon for the price to be that for where I live because in Sendai I can find many places that you get the same amount for always between $180-$220 usd with 16 pints included (but this is becuase if you don't finish all your food it cost a lot!) And they will bring out about 1/2 to 1lbs per time you ask to get more you can ask to have more brought out at a time if wanted. But if you dont eat it all you could be charged $5 dollar per picece of steak left over

I still can’t get into wagyu, I live in Japan and am all about steak, but for me, I really want that beefy flavor, the wagyu tastes good, but I’m a texture eater, and the way it melts isn’t appealing to me. It’s still worth a try everyone, I’m not saying it’s not, but buy a small piece first, it’s a very intense experience.

Guga, kobe beef is indeed quite expensive. However, if you're near kyoto, take the A-line to either kusatsu or ohmi hachiman (shin kaisoku from kyoto platform 2 towards maibara) There find a place called "mawari". It has ohmi beef all-you-can-eat for as low as ¥3000, although I recommend the ¥6000 course (it has A5 included)

We just came back from Ikebukuro (Tokyo) and all of your observations are spot on. Thankfully we had the Tobu Department store nearby our hotel. The grocery store in the basement was wild. We ate sushi and A5 wagyu until we could no longer eat it. We also went to Kobe Beef 511. The Family Marts and Lawsons are great. We were paying between 1,600 and 2,100 yen per 100 grams for the A5. After seeing how clean the city was, and how orderly, polite and respectful the people are, we should be ashamed as a country.

Supermarkets at train stations are notoriously expensive. Especially the one you ended up going to. You should catch a cab and go to a “Niku Hanamasa” - they specialize in meat and it’s cheap. You could also head to an “OK”, “Oozeki” or a “Life” for a more reasonably priced supermarket.
