Sailing off Waikiki Friday Evenings is a lot fun especially watching the Sail Boats under full sail heading to Diamond Head. When the sun sets and Waikiki lights up it's whole new look and you can finally set your navigation lights and give them a go. Todd and I anchored off the beach, he burned a "stick" and we enjoyed some bev's. I hope to do more of this this summer season.

Beautiful! Saw a video the other day on a guy that had a cleat coming loose. I know you’re very knowledgeable about your boat. Is there a way to tighten the cleats if they get loose?

Aloha! Yes you can tighten cleats. I don't have any cleats that are loose but I do have 1 grab rail that is starting to wobble in the bow. The process may be "humbug" or it might be easy. It all depends on the access to the loose part. Depending on where the part is you may have disassemble portions of the boat interior to get to it and even then you might have to fashion a method of getting a socket or box end wrench to the nut. Good Luck!

Aloha, just watched that video, thanks for sharing. My cleats are the non-pop out design. The cleat in question is the mid-cleat and I use that the most, mine are rock solid. His interior is different but I noticed his pilot side cup holder indent. I would take that off and maybe that's where he can reach the cleat. I was surprised also at his rubber molding...no problems here. To me it looks like Yamaha tried to be more stylish in the dash on these later model boats. That trim piece is a perfect example, you can hear the dash squeaking and creaking and to have trimmed it with something that probably doesnt flex forced it to become loose. The window hinge too...not a problem here. I also noted that floppy cushion at the starboard side and agree that it's a kite just waiting for enough speed down the highway to go airborne. His boat was in great shape though!

@@HawaiiJetboat I figured you would know! I hope he reads this and is able to fix it! We are still waiting here for ours. Did you see the Yamaha CEO apology for the delays? They must be getting pressure to get the boats out!
