Super views thru the clouds. That was one of our first Lake District walks many years ago and my wife actually remembered that big stile . Thanks for sharing Alistair. 👌👌

It's a popular walk, and rightly so! I often wonder why they use such high stiles....in all my years/miles wandering the fells I've never seen sheep trying to climb one. I've seen plenty on top of walls tho'! Glad you enjoyed it Richard and it brought back memories for you 👍 Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Alistair 👍

Didn't fancy that tricky bit (especially coming down it) when we did the Fairfield Horse last week so after Low Pike, we came back on ourselves and went around it, a much easier and safer option for an OAP like me. Very similar weather to what we had on the way down and loved seeing the clouds rolling in, bright back good memories. Always good to end on a blooper lol, cheers Alan

Yes it's a bit tricky, but as you say avoidable. We did have similar conditions Alan, pretty typical Lake District weather! I'm looking forward to doing the whole horseshoe again, when I aren't tied to the bus timetable. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Alistair 👍

Wow, can’t beat Autumnal hiking in my book. So atmospheric! By a long way my favourite time of year, to quote Justin Hayward, id love to live in “Forever Autumn”. Making me jealous with those hiking poles, we had ours confiscated at the airport. Apparently they are considered weapons. Had em in and out of airports before though. How are you supposed to go on a hiking holiday without them? Love the forgetting the camera! 😂 Dove Crag a really atmospheric beauty! Easiest mile in lakeland indeed! What a beauty. Great views of Windermere! What a truly memorable day! ♥️ great bloopers 😂

It's a great time of the year 👌 I've always got away with trekking poles in hold luggage with covers over the spikes, maybe I've been lucky? That's an expensive loss 😲☹️ I've given the easiest mile quote a bit of thought since, I think he's right regarding ridges. There will be easier miles in the valleys for sure. I was looking forward to getting a few good days out over the next fortnight when the colours are good.... but I tested positive for Covid yesterday ☹️. I feel ok, I've gone to work (before I retired) feeling a lot worse! Thanks for watching and commenting it's always much appreciated. Cheers Alistair 👍

@@WainwrightWalksWiaLocalLad oh Alistair, darn Covid. I think your ok if you put them in hold luggage, we tried getting them onto the plane on a carry on. Cant believe you have to pay for a checked in suitcase just to get your walking poles through security. Thats a huge additional expense and a massive delay at the airport. About to test myself as I have a booster booked this afternoon. The rules are so lax on planes and airports now feel like we were around 100s with covid just a couple of days ago! Stay well, hot toddies might do the trick! 🤞

It seems like an old wall any idea when it was made? Looks like a castle should be round the bend ❤

It does look like it should lead to a castle! The Drystone walls in the Lake District cover quite a timespan, from 1000 years old to 3500 years old.... although many have been repaired they have stood up to the weather, sheep and time well! Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Alistair 👍

Brilliant Alastair. Those walks are just stunning and I love the way you film in such a non dramatic way! Very relaxing and enjoyable as usual. I just wanted to mention one thing to you, that on your main camera your volume is lower but there’s a really high-pitched noise constantly coming from it. I only say as I suffer from tinnitus and it’s noticeable. Not a problem for me but thought it good to mention 👍

Hi Phil, thanks for your comments, I hadn't noticed the buzzing! Don't know what that can be must be the Rode mic 🤔 can't imagine what else it could be, I'll have to investigate. I've got covid at the moment so it might be a day or two before I can be bothered! I suffer with tinnitus as well, almost 59 years of motorbikes I'm told 😲☹️ I wear earplugs now.... bit to late ☹️ Thanks again for watching and for the feedback (not literally I hope, although it could be) Cheers Alistair 👍

@@WainwrightWalksWiaLocalLad poor Alastair I can’t believe you’ve got COVID now. I’m really sorry to hear that 🙁 Mine is from 35+ years of working with tools (as a carpenter) with no earphones 🤦🏻‍♂️ Hope your feeling better soon 👍😊
