I've had my 2012 W204 C63 AMG for over 2yrs and the driving experience is incredible but owning a car that regularly gets recognition by random ppl while driving is a great feeling every time! #giveusarev 😅
@andyp84645 ай бұрын
Yeah the C is well known and has proper quad exhausts. No one recognises the E 😂, they hear mine in traffic on the motorway etc and turn their heads but are left bewildered at what's wrong with the taxi's engine - ive got an iPE exhaust.. I've owned A GLA45, people would regularly interact with me, race me etc. My C63s wagon got reasonable attention too. Rev it for me bruv. My w211 E63 - nothing 😂, they'd all think I was a grampa and try and overtake me until I put my foot down , that car had 510hp and the same 6.2l engine as the C As of now my v8 m3 also gets people saying, it's a v8, put your foot down for me. The E...nothing 😂😂 and it's much louder than my m3. Literally no one knows what it is. It has no reputation. It's a complete sleeper But as a car, if you can get s212 E63s estate, that's literally best rwd car axe murderer around. Practical, monster stock power, amazing stability and comfort and can handle incredibly well. There's very few estates around. I'm only selling my saloon because I want to be back in an estate otherwise it's the perfect car. It's quite light for a big car and there's nothing better than putting your foot down a bit too much and smelling burnt rubber 😂 I've never once thought omg it's trying to kill me. My 2018 c63s was trying to kill me every chance it got 😂
@sarcastixx745 ай бұрын
I can relate to that! It does sweeten the ownership even more when you get much less of the 30 somethings in the pcp pop+bang brigade seeing you as a threat to their supposed masculinity just by being on the road. I came away from bmw M cars as I was pig sick of people assuming I was just out to act like a silly boy racer every time I had them on the road. I now have a facelift C7 RS6 and the change is staggering. Thumbs up and flashes from totally random cars/drivers and it's not the first time I've came back to it in a car park to see some people with their phones out doing a walkaround. I'm sure the C and E63 get similar attention, something seriously cool about big V8's in a saloon or estate that seems to tick everyones box!
@BinisaElebo5 ай бұрын
What's better the e63 or Rs7 2014??
@andyp84645 ай бұрын
@sarcastixx74 nah nothing in the E, no attention The c7 and c8 rs6 are recognisable from a mile away , no one can not notice them and know what they are. The s213 e63 from 2017 are well known but not the older ones. I sold my w212 5.5 last week and couldn't find an estate so bought a 6,2l w212. It actually looks more classy than the facelift from the front but not the back. Again I doubt it will get any attention, it's not the C class. The facelift C coupe and 507 look amazing, on par with the rs6 in their own way, my e class prefacelift looks like a taxi 🤣 the one I sold stock on the dyno at 35k miles was 630bhp and 840nm of torque, way too powerful to exploit on our roads mostly as a rwd car, my more recent one is only 525hp and 630nm torque but puts the power down amazingly and has the legendary 6.2l sound and amazing 212 chassis and top tier handling now , it's just the huge size that's it's downside and the noise insulation is too much, needs to be louder, it also has a hydraulic steering and the steering feel is fantastic, doubt any of its rivals can match that. One to look out for of you have a great audi specialist near you is the V10 rs6. Not as accomplished as the c7 or c8 but it's got a v10 twin turbo, super fast in a straight line and any petrol head will recognise the v10 My sound and security guy changed the subwoofers on my m3 and an auto watch ghost found a large knife under the drivers seat ! There's a reason M drivers used to get bad reps lol, when I compare the drive of my v8 m3 vs the w212 6.2l the 6.2 is far more special but I still like the raw character of the m3. I think the choice of rs6 or E is purely about what you're looking for , the RS6 ticks the daily driver comfort, design, reputation box and all weather conditions blistering performance box the best , the AMGs from 2010 tick the comfort luxury , performance , handling and fun factor box but not the looks box. At normal speeds the c8 has a better ride than the newer 213 and is a better daily , the s213 is better at handling and more thrilling to drive but the ride more stiff, it's about preference. They both excel at what they do.
@sarcastixx745 ай бұрын
@@andyp8464 To be fair I've very little knowledge and next to no experience with mercs, only ever seen them (obviously heard the bigger V8 ones!) too and to be honest they all look too much the same for me. A million variants for each class is another thing that puts me off, but their overall reputation cannot be disputed. All the V8's are absolute legends, especially the earlier W212's. The E9x M3 is an absolute hoot, proper future classic and looks even better than its later turbo variants, albeit slower. Good point about the V10 RS6, each to their own but I much prefer the beefier stance and chassis of the C7.5, when pushing on it'll clear any motorway lane like moses parting the red sea! lol Only done 4k miles in the RS6 and already I've had to do the fuel pumps and now front brakes, those have done 18k miles with 14k of them with the previous owner who toured europe last year so it no doubt had some occasional heavy use. All expected and doesn't put me off one bit though, gotta pay to play!

I am the proud owner of a 2015 E63 Wagon, which is my daily driver. It too has had a stage 1 remap and has been tested at 660 BHP with a peak 1100 Nm of torque. It is such a capable, comfortable and practical machine it almost makes my Jaguar F Type SVR redundant performance wise .... But not quite. I would certainly recommend one, but they cannot be run on a shoestring budget. I agree, 19 MPG is average for this car, though over the last 3,700 miles it has averaged only 15.5 MPG. Servicing is reasonable for this kind of car, mines due a B Service, a gearbox oil change (every 3 years) and brake fluid change which has been booked with Mercedes and quoted at £870, which I think is fair. Only issue I have had so far is a coil pack failing, a £93 part from Mercedes and a few minutes to fit. I do run it in aftermarket wheels with Michelin PS4 tyres as the original wheels are a little soft and buckle easily. All in all a fantastic car!

Hello - you could buy a C63 - typically low km like 100k Km or less for 5-6k GBP. The catch is these cars are based in Hong Kong but are right hand drive- but with import costs tax would still fall below your 10k budget mark. Might be a good project and content to show how the import process works - I'm sure would have it's challenges. I have a 16 E63s AMG (4Matic) as my daily driver and 911 T as the fun car. This car is FANTASTIC, however has some quirks, air suspension on rear of car be prepared for annoying quirks with that when it gets cold out almost always is the valve block easy fix. Solid engine but you need to maintain it, spark plugs at 50k miles (diy if you’re a car person or 700 USD), trans flush at 35k miles (550 USd). Oil change interval is 10k I change every 5-6500miles easy to change yourself you can extract it even tho it says to change from below I’ve tested both ways extraction works the same. Front driver side lower control arms will always go bad unless you buy aftermarket extremely easy diy and parts are cheap. Engine mounts are susceptible to failure if cars driven hard and they’re old I replaced those (1900). Small little easy to change sensors on front of engine should be replaced to prevent oil leaking into Ecu very easy change 100bucks. Fantastic car. You can’t find anything like it for the price point.

That would put you into generations equipped with airmatic or ABC suspension, both known to throw huge bills, as in £1500-£3k per corner and that's without leaks and issues with the lines, valve blocks, pump etc. Also, look out for iffy SBC brake modules, another huge expense when they fail and if they do, a lot of brake performance is lost. Not saying don't buy one, just do your research. A sub 10k full fat AMG would scare me. And I've owned an e60 M5 and currently own a C6 RS6 😂

I seriously looked into getting one. But, I fear the German maintenance cost for these things. Great cars though.

Any tasty V8 will be expensive but you’re unlikely to look back when you’re 80 and regret buying a car you remember 😉

Looks like portsdown hill to me. 🧐I’m considering getting an E63 like this one. I’ve currently got a C43 but fancy a change. I’m slightly concerned about the lack of 4wd as I live in 🏴. I know you don’t buy these cars to be eco but I also don’t want to dump a mortgage payment into shell each month.

Drive my S , it is a cut above the standard one. Stock it is 535 wheel horsepower , and is better throughout than the standard. Always get one with an LSD or you're missing our completely on what the chassis is capable of. This car is. far more stable on wet roads than most cars even though it is rwd. Just drive it in comfort mode the stability is immense , I've driven many fast cars and this one is so easy to drive . I always drive it in sport handling in the rain to force it to play and misbehave as otherwise it plants very well. The steering is light for town driving and weight is perfect for fast driving . You get used to it very fast. The car is just too capable, the chassis is brilliant and firm the dampers and it's unbelievable. Makes me v8 M3 seem like a baby car in comparison

sub 20k? Maybe in UK where it depreciated even more due to wrong side drive. In EU nice one is still around 35K

Funny you should say!!! I said to the owner it reminded me of the ZL1!! Similarly terrifying (in a good way!) exciting feeling but yours was louder and more special 😅

Thanks to brexit it’s no longer feasible to export that many vehicles. So a lot of cars are „stuck“ on the island. I considered getting a rhd boxster but 19% vat / 10% customs plus large registration hustles make it impossible to come out ahead.

You do know that these come 4matic as well, if you are worried about driveability.

The 5.5 engine is not the best for reliability, especially when mapped they coating in the cilinders is prone to failing and you get piston slap with bend rods as a consequence.

This is interesting, I’ll look into this for the next time I review one

Ive always wondered. Why did the E class change from the 6.2 to the 5.5 v8 in the middle of the lifecycle? Can anyone explain ?. As far as i know the 6.2 c63 went from 2008-14 but i believe the e63 went from 2007-2011
@lubasisimangolwa16795 ай бұрын
Most likely Euro emissions regulations
@aqibfreed46725 ай бұрын
I thought that too. But then it doesnt explain why the C63 kept the same engine until 2014 ?

Its a nice car but they cost more like 40k on the Continent with like 130k km. And for that money u get a bmw 750i fully loaded 2016/17 that does around 4sec to 100.. and im a merc guy

You can pick up a E55 or C55 AMG for around the 10k mark or if you want to be adventurous you could get a CLS55 for around 10k aswell and in my eye those engines are far better a M113K Supercharged V8 🤤🤤
