It can be unreliable because glaives only block right in front of you. Alak-Hul’s melee is somewhat unique in that he lunges forward. If he gets even a millimeter behind you the shield won’t protect you at all.

Unrelated but my hope for the rework is making it so that the glaive melee charge actually depletes when you use it. You can still uncharge melee for the same thing as normal, just allowing glaives to take advantage of charged melee buffs

I use Winterbite nonstop on banner of war titan with synthos :) it's so fun to just melee everything and have so so much versatility. Also I love to grapple the projectiles (it's easier to go further if you pull back as you fly) wheeeeee
