Robbie wasn't actively defending the choke. (not trying to separate Ben's hands) Ten more seconds and he would have been finished regardless.

The askren vs lawler stoppage will always be one I agree with but it is so weird, I think askren started letting up towards the end so lawler had came to right as he let go. The "thumbs up" really just looks like natural hand positioning. That arm was limp.
