Lee Grant is just mesmerising. Not just the beauty (obviously), but her mannerisms, the casual condescension - she makes it feel like she's simply not acting, which is an incredibly hard thing to do. And naturally Falk nails Columbo so well, so immediately, that it's impossible to distinguish the actor from the character. The show - barring odd lapses - was pretty much consistently amazing and near timeless.

There's a lot of lines and moments on this show that feels ad-libbed, like when Lee Grant repeats Columbo's "no" after asking him is that the pen.
