that was amazing what Reggie said about Soundgarden & Nirvana. And tragically true what he said about we''ll never see the likes of that again

I't so inspiring to see a man like Reggie, paying tribute to bands that has nothing to do with each other, I never thought a guy like him would appreciate that Ministry album for example. big respect for him!

@mnchls6 жыл бұрын
I knew I could count on him to rep some true electronic music: Jelinek/Farben, FSOL, DJ Pierre/Phortune, Plaid. Damn fuckin straight. Reggie has great picks too, and it's obvious that every choice held significance for him in his personal life and musical journey. It's also the most candid and non-comedic I've ever seen him. Thanks for posting, Amoeba! Easily one of my favorite entries in this series in years and years!

disgraceland uk who would you say has lived up to that? I think he meant culturally speaking. Within the radio and mainstream, I don’t think there has. Where the movement is so strong and loud, it seeps over other genres.
@dstroh226 жыл бұрын
a statement like that with no answer is just lame
@JohnnyWrong6 жыл бұрын
Ha ha ha. I'm not doing your homework for you, son. If you're too lazy to go looking then you deserve to be out of the loop. And there was no "movement". What you're really remembering is the media fixating on on what they termed "grunge" in order to shift their lame magazines. Most of the bands who were referred to as such hated the term, as it was used so broadly it didn't really mean anything. It was a brief moment in time when a handful of decent artists found themselves in the mainstream limelight. That really has no bearing on their quality, or on the quality of what has come since. Any real music fan knows this. If you love music, you'll always dig further than what's served up to you on a platter.
@dstroh226 жыл бұрын
disgraceland uk 🛑.. the 'i know more than you argument' is silly.. you had an opinion n i asked u to back it up n now i gotta listen to this crap. no thanks. you win your music is better than mine n i'm a lemming that only follows the crowd. BTW.. i'm 55 n from Seattle n saw it all happen. i didn't go buy ripped jeans n a flannel shirt.. i already had em n if the outside media had no bearing on the quality of the music then why bring it up. I'm not trying to place myself in the middle of the 'scene' i just know i liked seein a lot of those bands. Still don't know what you consider dangerous. Long live justin bieber.
@JohnnyWrong6 жыл бұрын
Whatever you say. Very little of the important stuff happened in Seattle anyway. Again...mainstream media spin. ;) Enjoy your Bieber.
