Even the comics show that Eggman values Metal Sonic a great deal, fixing him up after every failure, rarely ever scolding him the way he does for Orbot and Cubot...he clearly shows compassion and care towards his own creations. Even Orbot and Cubot he could've trashed a long time ago, but he's kept them around no matter what happened. Eggman is apprehensive, dubious, evil, cruel, menacing, and downright horrifying, but he is also still human...even if any sort of care he installs into anything goes into his own creations.

Don't forget he never ordered recalls for any of his out-of-date badniks, they're still in those zones they were stationed in doing their jobs. Hell, even his old mecha boss bots are repaired and kept in an armory to be refitted and reused. He has a soft spot for his creations, but he won't mind sending them to their doom fighting Sonic since that was what they were made to do... Fight the opposition. Even the bots that leave him he doesn't destroy, he reminds them they can 'come back to join him at any time' and lets them be on their way as long as they don't actively go against him.

What about Mecha?, He was only given one chance he lost and ended up losing two of his limbs, but Eggman just abandoned mecha as Angel Island collapsed around him, he was left too rust on the bottom of the ocean after one failure, the only reason he's still alive is cuz he washed up on a trash heep before the water could damage any important components, allowing beta to reboot him after finding him on the shore, speaking of which, there's also beta himself and all the scrapniks that live with them on the trash island, they've all been abandoned replaced and forgotten by him, where's there love and respect?🥺

That is an interesting premise. If he's still functional for that long, I do wonder how Metal would react knowing the mortality of his creator, his father. Or the fact that even Sonic is getting older and he too will eventually move on. (All assuming Metal is still operational and continuing to be rebuilt with memories intact.)

This could very well be the case, seeing Sage and others in the animals he captured and brainwashed and at the official Olympic Games, etc. Because the animals he hired with the money he found out are on board Badnik, he thinks of Badnik, including the e series, as mere armor and servants, but he treats special beings kindly. It's like how a child treats toys, family & pets in a different way.It's cruel, but in a way it's a human side of him.Especially when you think of him as an adult like a child.

I'm getting "Dear Father" vibes from this when SAGE sang to Eggman, who created her and even called her daughter! This proves he isn't just an insane villain, but a man with a kind heart, wanting to raise a child (even though she's an AI that looks like a kid) much like his grandfather, Gerald Robotnik and Maria. Eggman in this comic, didn't know how to react to the sudden embrace from a robot, and showed a slight annoyance before realizing Metal Sonic is trying to comfort him, immediately dropping the "mad scientist" attitude and returned the hug. ALSO I just realized "Dear My Friend" from Sonic Unleashed (Chip's song to Sonic) sounds alot like "Dear Father" from Sonic Frontiers (SAGE's song to Eggman), which was a cool reference and it made me cry a river of tears. lol

EggDad is a very good example of You are the Bad guy, But that does not make you A Bad Guy. Plus Eggman and Metal Sonic being father and son is another parallel to Bowser and Bowser Jr. Despite all four being cartoony Villains, They can all be very dastardly if they feel like it. They also have good sides they try to hide from the main characters. That is what makes those four my favorite video game villains ever.

I love when comics point out Eggmans human side as he basically lost his whole family. As Mira got killed by G.U.N including his uncle and when Metal hug Eggman, it brought back a memory of a past cousin (Mira) and then theirs Sage who is basically a daughter to Eggman with Metal being a son. It's really sad to see Robotnik not being the self-driven, prideful, and bad person he's seen to be. This comic shows that he's lived in failure but is very optimistic about the situations he gotten into through his failed attempts and conquering the world. And it's also sad to see that one of the only things that keeps Dr. Robotnik company is a robotic clone of his sworn enemy.
